How to compare Bam with T Johns?

No , Jones could handle the ball better and shoot better . Bam is a better jumper and a little more athletic . They're really not that much alike .

Bam reminds me of a Montrez on roids.

Long arms and better vertical then Jones. Jones was better off the dribble and shooter. two different players to me - both effective in college.

Tommy John had the better breaking ball. However, he did invent a revolutionary new surgery.

Come on, guys, you aren't allowed to point out when a poster gets the name of one of our players wrong. I learned that lesson last week when I corrected "Wynward" to "Wynyard."

I have heard some comparison to Montoya Harrel, if that is true could be an exciting player to watch.

This is a dumb thread. How to compare? You can't. They are nothing alike. If this is the type of thoughts running in your mind, do less starting threads and more reading.

How can you they are nothing alike? At least their positions are the same, their height/weight are close. Their are both very athletic and like to play above the rim.

Based only on the highlight reels I've seen, I would classify him as a cross between Julius Randle and MKG. He has Randle's body and brute force coupled with MKG's athleticism.

He probably won't be a 3 time super bowl champion like Ted Johnson, and he also probably won't spend any time doing that hybrid 3/4 thing that Terrence Jones did. Bam is strictly a post player who will probably develop a little bit of a jumper for the league while at UK.

So yeah, Jones had more perimeter skills, but also wasn't as strong or brutal as Bam - totally different functions on the court. Jones would wander off to his own planet, sometimes, too - while Bam is known to have a nonstop motor.

This is completely OT, but I see him being one of those guys that could TOTALLY dominate at TE in the NFL one day. Too bad he'll be making millions in the NBA, so we'll never get to see it.

Na man they're nothing alike. Think of Bam as a slightly shorter version of Dwight Howard. Seriously. But I'd bet Bam will be 6'10 or so by the time he gets here.

I don't post over here often, and maybe this has already been stated, but this kid reminds me of Shawn Kemp.

Bam seems to be a lot more fluid as an athlete and more explosive. TJ was also more perimeter oriented offensively than Bam although he is trying to add that to his game.

I had a probably with T Johns. His walk wasn't fast paste enough to hive me the chills for all intensive purposes.

Bam reminds me of Cheick Diallo.

Bam may be more athletic though.

No comparison whatsoever, IMO, just from watching highlight tapes. Cheick doesn't strike me as nearly the savage player that Bam does. Bam wants to tear the damn rim down every time he gets the ball. I LOVE that.

Well I disagree with you.

Diallo is similar in size and build and he has a very high motor like Bam.

They both have limited range on their shot and do their best work around the rim.

Both strong rebounders as well.

I think that Bam is a little more explosive and athletic but my comparison is not way off.

Diallo looks longer but Bam is clearly stronger. But they do both appear to be high motor guys that need to develop other parts of their games.

I don't think we've had a player like Bam in my lifetime.

He does remind me of Cliff Alexander. Be interesting to revisit the careers of these two further down the road.

Big guys that play with a mean streak and a high motor and try to tear the rim down every time they get the ball are my favorite kinds of players.

I like the Shawn Kemp comparison.
Guess most of you guys never watched him play. Similar size and skill and kemp tried to tear down the rim at any chance he could get.
Earlier I said a much better Harrell but I like Kemp comparison much more.
