How much do we need to pony up for Stoops to be able to compete with Louisville?

I think we have had 5 recruiting classes in a row that were top 25 or 30, to see this game you would have to assume they were overrated or the coaching has not been up to snuff. If Louisville can do this with classes that are not as good as ours, the portal might be the way to do it. they are competitive with decent classes supplemented with transfers. We are the state university and can’t come up with NIL money is a joke, how are they doing it?

You’re confused on a what a buyout is.

A buyout is when another team, say Iowa, wants to hire stoops while he is under contract with UK, and stoops wants to leave. Iowa would owe UK around $4 million to break his contract with UK and negotiate their own contract.

Totally different scenario if UK wants to fire Stoops.

There’s about 44 million dollars left on his contract. UK would have to pay the $44 million (or a negotiated number) to get rid of Stoops contract prematurely.
