I believe UK stays #1 especially since Duke lost.
However, I also believe Virginia with a big road win at ND and also being undefeated couple with UKs two nail biting wins v. Avg. comp will result in the Cavs garnering several 1st place votes.

How many is my question.

My guess is about 10.

Thoughts?

They will at least get the one from the person that has been voting for duke.

Would be happy if they got enough so the headline would be UVA closing in on Kentucky for #1. That might cause a pick-up in our interest in playing.

Should be none, but they'll get a few from the haters. Their best wins against Notre Dame and Maryland hardly compare to ours.

Polls end up being evaluated from week-to-week play. Thus, it would not surprise me to see several votes swing in UVA's favor.

U.Va. will get 15 first-place votes ... exactly the same number given to Arizona, Wisconsin, and Duke - combined - in the first regular season AP poll on November 17, 2014. IMHO, in the minds of the national media U.K.'s last two games have completely overshadowed the earlier OOC wins over Kansas, Texas, UNC, and Louisville. In terms of the AP poll, IMHO we're back to Square One. No one - and I mean no one - any longer thinks U.K. is intimidating !

Can't disagree,we haven't done much to strike fear in anyone in the past 2 games. I think we will snap out of this but the question is when.If we keep letting teams get to the point they can play us in 4 minute games we will drop a couple we should not lose.

They also had a double OT win at Miami. I don't think they deserve any honestly. Kentucky has better wins and tougher schedule so far.

I guess it would depend on if you think the polls should reflect who is playing best right now or if they should reflect the season's accomplishments to date.

Does it really matter? As long as you make the tourney you're in position to prove who is truly #1.
