How can UL fans still delude themselves after last night?

That was the thought that ran thru my mind:
"Deluding themselves is what they do best. Without those delusions, Cardinal fans would cease to function.

But mind was more on this line of thought:

Ha! Love the Stuart Smalley reference. "Because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it! People like me!"

When David Levitch appears to be your most dynamic score.....
Honestly, I'm sure Rick will coach them up some as the season progresses, but they look like a bubble team right now, if not NIT bound. I swear Onuaku, was called for a moving pick, not once but 3 times!
Serious question. Who the hell is David Levitch?

UL fans are delusional without a doubt. I was reading a post on their board about predictions for this season and many said they will not lose more than 5-6 games. A couple said possibly 10 and one said double digits but, most were at the 5-6 range. One even said that they were in line for another championship in 2-3 years. First of all, they are down in talent, have a very young team with no depth, the new 30 second shot clock rule plays to offensive teams (which they are not) and, with refs cracking down on hand checking this year it takes away from their hack attack style so, their defense will suffer. Final analysis? They are delusional with little to no basketball knowledge what so ever.

They're not going to be very good.

Average guardplay. They're not going to be able to press the way Pitino's teams always do. They don't have a true slasher or a skilled back-to-the-basket player, both of which are necessary in the college game because so many of these things become half-court slogs.

They're going to lose 10 or 12 even with their schedule and be a bubble team, IMO.

BUT the one thing I've noticed, and I've watched both games, is that their bigs play hard. They're nondescript for the most part and none of them are special, but they'll get in there and mix it up. Louisville will win a handful of viciously ugly games this year where they get 10 or 12 blocks, foul like crazy, and back into a W even though they've played atrocious basketball.
