hope I am wrong ,but looks like the Kings coming after Cal

Peevy is cals go to guy. Peevy runs bball not MB. if UK lets him walk I could see things opening up a little for Cal to look at leaving.

I'll probably get slammed for this , but keep a eye on Sac this year and Karl. I don't even think Karl makes it to the end of the year. if that happens watch them put on the full court press for Cal. if Peevy is gone then I will really worry.

Give it a rest. Because Calipari is an elite coach, NBA teams will come after him every year. Have you looked at our newest recruiting class? Calipari isn't going anywhere.

LA is over 6 hours away.

That is like saying Cal went to UK because Lexington is not far from Chicago, Atlanta, Memphis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Charlotte, St, Louis, Indianapolis, etc???

I had some conversations with him about the state of Memphis being a UK fan and whatnot. Seemed like a UK fan to me.

I agree that this is a dumb thread.

Anyone who has read Cal's book understands how much he enjoys his life at UK. For those of you who are not familiar with this, when he takes on a new player, it's almost like an adoption. They are welcome to come over to his house whenever they want, and they do. If you listened to Bam this morning, he made it clear that he's coming for the relationship with Cal and the network of friendships that the players have. I don't think Bam said anything about basketball.

And remember the disaster that Cal had with the Nets. From Wikipedia:

He's not dumb. I think it's safe to say that he's a competitive guy who hates to lose. Why would he want to risk doing that again?

Don't you get sick and tired of all the individuals that constantly try to force their negative campaigns against our programs, players and coaches on these boards under the guise of being "a fan". I am.

Some try to be suttle others are just haters but it is all the same. They hate to see any success and will find any little nit picking thing to use to try to justify their existence.
 
He wouldn't leave for the Kings. The organisation from the owner down is a complete mess. No amount of money is worth wrapping yourself up in that for.

He'd only leave for the following jobs (full front office control is a given in all scenarios): Cleveland with LeBron, but that's only got 4 years or so left. Bulls with a superstar. Heat with a superstar. Spurs with a superstar.

Lakers and Knicks are out with insane people running them. Celtics probably won't ditch their coach soon.

And yea I'm too much of a fan. I spend ridiculous amounts on UK football memorabilia. Imagine what kind of fan would do that?

s@c man I've been their. it's absolutely crazy how far these people take it down here. they take this stuff way to serious. kinda like a few people on here. central bq is the best. I'm in Frankfort now and miss the food back in mempho.

go to Huey's in Colliervile behind the bar they have a doll dressed like cal hanging from a rope. jokingly I told the bar lady me seeing that will affect her tip. lol she got mad. owe by the way it did affect her tip.

right down the road at o Charley's in colli the manager is a huge UK fan. think he goes by walltorondo on here. let him know your a UK fan he will take care of you. up the road a place called the trophy room is ran by a guy pretty connected to local talent. his name is tony he has some great stories of when cal was in town. tony had some really good things to say about pel when he was coaching at ark. a lot of programs go through tony to get young talent in mempho.

after that their really is no where safe to watch a game. when I say safe I mean your health. people here hate cal and will violently back that up. I got the normal ribbing, but also came close to be physically attacked more then once.

have to go back in a month. love being back home. tell everyone when I hit the BG parkway I roll my windows down. just the smell is different. I've played golf everyday since back. just the quiet layer back atmosphere is so different.

hopefully I'll be back for good in 6 months. but until then I'll enjoy the time I have here

Congrats on being the first person in the history of the world to use words like "spotlight, glitz and glamour" as a reason for going to Sacramento. If any posters from Cali read this they'll likely be laughing their asses off because Sac-town is known in the rest of the state for what a boring, middle of nowhere dull city it is.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "not far", considering that Sacramento is at least a 6 hour drive away from LA and the So Cal scene. Seems pretty far to me.

Really, it's just jealousy. Memphis would kill to actually have a program like ours. When Cal showed them they don't, they couldn't handle it. I hope we steal Fuentes and ignite another bomb in memphis.

They are averaging 11,000 fans per game right now. [laughing]

2. You saw the Kings' owner sitting with a Toronto fan and rapper that admires Cal
3. You don't understand or pay attention to the NBA, at all.
4. Cal and Peevy are close, and losing one friend would make him consider leaving an empire he's built at 8 MM a year with other friends.

Pitino much more likely to go to Kings IMO....he will be unemployed by then...makes perfect sense. He will never be college coach again

love how some of you break down my thinking of possible options or reasons cal would leave for sac. I have no idea what the man is thinking or what would keep him here. and guess what neither do you. good lord now I see why some think our fan base is full of over the top irrational people hahahahah. hey but I got a great laugh.

Wasting your time on here man, Cal is so important to so many on here that they cling on to him with all of their being. Any hint that he might not be at UK forever gets quickly pounced on as if the person speculating is the biggest idiot to ever walk the face of the planet. Guess they will all find out.

We have Cal until at least after NEXT season. With the Bam commitment and potential commitment of monk or one other.... Cal wants to coach that team. So until then, i don't care about the speculation.
