Higgins heard about Snell, didn't want to lose spotlight

And now it’s seeping into football. Between the UNC screw job last year and the bowl game screw job, I almost want to stop watching.

I guess I’ll look at it like wrestling. Sometimes the good guy has to overcome his opponent and cheater refs.

At this point, it's exactly like wrestling to me. I'll watch the Ultimate Warrior, and if they decide to give him the title I'm happy. Otherwise, I don't even pay attention.

The best part is I believe it was Bilas and that other bozo just a couple of weeks ago during a game telling UK fans what a great official Higgins is and we should leave him alone.

Talk about irony. A great official doesn’t constantly put himself in the middle of controversy, nor does he stalk a coach walking away from him.

Maybe, just maybe, Higgins is a highlighted fruitcake of an asshole.

I'm not the most upstanding citizen, but if I was a regular at Kentucky games and in ear-shot, I'd let him have it. I'd call out all his bullshit, air it all out. Don't even care if I got escorted out. He's on thin ice, and it would be great if we as fans could cause his demise.

Have any UK fans Tweeted Bilas, what he was what he was criticising Higgins for is exactly what the BBN has been saying about him for many seasons? like the person above me stated, "A great official doesn’t constantly put himself in the middle of controversy, nor does he stalk a coach walking away from him."

That wasn't Bilas unless it was from another game. That was Dave Pasch who took the opportunity in a totally unrelated game to lecture our fanbase about how well respected and professional Higgins is. Sean Farnham was there too but to his credit he didn't add on. He just let Pasch be a dope.

Higgins lives in Nebraska. It's not a huge stretch to think he may be a Kansas fan. Refs are human and have biases like the rest of us. It's too bad that they are not made to answer to the media after games.

See this post for stats on NCAA tournament games where Higgins has officiated multiple games for a team since 2011: https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/higgins-missed-calls-thread-2005-2017.232127/page-2 and also Post 91 of the Thread.

I'm aware of certain games prior to 2011, but don't have all the stats.

In this time period, Wisconsin and UConn are 3-0, Wichita State 2-0, UNC 1-1 (but that would be different if not for the miracle shot vs Villanova). Kansas is 1-1 (losing to Wichita St) in the NCAA Tournament where Higgins officiated.

In this time period, Kentucky is 0-3 and Virginia 0-2. The SEC is 2-6.

I think most of us would agree that a "great official" is one that has been around for years, but has not developed a "name" for himself. In other words, the name is recognizable only because they've called many games in the past - not because they're always somehow involved in questionable calls or overtly-high foul count games.

Refs known for tossing players/coaches and doling out technicals, or somehow always having been in the middle of bizarre situations - those are the assholes that need to be kicked out of the league.

Would be great to do some depositions of the assigning officials and put them under oath as to whether Higgins calls where correct. Also putting Higgins under oath and having him testify as to his calls. Question him by reading the rule book and then asking him to explain his calls in reference to the rules. I don't believe he could stand the scrutiny. Mr. Higgins after reviewing these calls do you understand why Kentucky fans would think you are a corrupt son of a bitch.

The fact that Higgins was named referee of the year tells me all I need to know about the quality of officiating in college basketball.
That’s about as mind boggling as it gets.

One would think Higgins would have toned it down after last year’s debacle, but in his first high-profile game, this goon turns it up a notch. Almost like a big EFF-YOU from the NCAA to fans, coaches and teams to reiterate who really has the power. Sad state of affairs.
No accountability. NCAA hires the refs, decides what games they do, and no access to them after games. Let them eat cake mentality.

I think Higgins is a huge fan of $$$ and that's what the NCAA is rewarding him with everytime they allow conferences to assign him to high profile games. Of course the NCAA is no better, they gave him the FF last year after he dry-humped UK.
