Hamidou Diallo with his first ever career NBA bucket

Wonder how many on here are willing to admit that they're shocked (and totally wrong if they made a prediction) that not only is Diallo on an NBA roster, but actually seeing game time.

I'll admit that I wouldn't have bet on it. I'm not shocked an NBA team signed him, but he seemed like a prime candidate to spend all year in the G League working on his jump shot. That still might happen later on, but when a 2nd round pick starts the year on the main roster and gets some PT, he clearly has a future with the team.

Diallo was not a great player at UK, but if you're going to recruit from the top of the HS ratings, you need to accept that some of those guys are far less finished products than others, and might not show their real worth until long after they leave UK.

He looked pretty comfortable out there, considering the opponent and that it's opening night. Minutes will take a hit once Westbrook pushes other bench players back
