Haggin Hall, UK - 1993-1994

Haggin 83-84. Remember the K-Lair, the cafeteria at Donovan, too many Domino's pizzas to remember (back when it was good), a panty raid or two at Donovan, peeing and puking in all the wrong places. I got a tarantula the second semester. Soon there was every kind of oddball pet on our floor. A snake. A turtle. Fish. It was a crazy year. Spring Break in Lauderdale.

By the way, I was shooting hoops at that court behind the dorm that Spring when one of the TV stations took video and used it that night. My shot was a brick and everyone watching was laughing. You know, you miss ONE shot in your career...

The Oak Room at Donavan was good. K-Lair every day.

What year did your wife and her bro graduate?
93 and 90. This also brings up something I'm trying to find info on.
My buddy and I went and watched Oak Hill play BC at BC but we can't recall the year. I remember BC having a black guy on the team with a high top fade maybe. He acquitted himself pretty well although BC got their doors blown off, naturally.

Jerome Hoosier. I believe it was 91/92 season, his senior year I think. Maybe the year before? Yes, it was a decimation, but Jerome played pretty well. That was a great Oak Hill team with many D1 players.

I graduated in 93. I’m sure I know your wife. What is her first name and last initial? If you don’t want to answer - I understand. Just curious.

Seaton was legit, but if you couldn’t play you better just stay home. Haggin was great for me. Alumni seemed like the floors weren’t level, or the entire building maybe had a slant to it. Blue Courts were ok, not the best.

Best games I played and watched were at Seaton though. Watched our entire 1993 team get nasty in there a few times.
we used to sneak into alumni... especially in winter on heavy snow days... no one was checking circa 1990

Since others are remembering other years I will do so as well.
I lived in Haggin in fall of 1961.. first time I ever had air conditioning. Thought I had died and gone to heaven
first day there I saw one guy shooting on the goal behind Haggin. I was just off a fairly good high school team and basically played point guard although We didn’t call it that in the pattern offense .
I asked him if he wanted to play one on one . Thought I would take him easy . big mistake . Damn was he good . Cotton Nash .

Those air conditioners were spitting mildew by the time I got there. Glad you got them when they were nice.

Fall of '94. I somehow got a single room without a roommate. I can't remember how I got the single room, but I thought it was going to be a nice upgrade. I found out that it was a janitorial closet that had been converted into a dorm room. It was just big enough to fit a cot and a desk. Still had a blast. Miss those days on campus.
