Service Merc did have an odd collection of goods for the time period , but they were actually one of the forerunners of mixed goods and online shopping.

The UNC starters with text were pretty dope, the rams head ones were crap.

-They're making a big deal of this @bringbrohmhome twitter handle and treating the guy like a hero. As of yesterday afternoon he had just a bit over 800 followers. For context, the King of all Kings @notjerrytipton had over 70 THOUSAND followers.

Talk about someone who is sorely missed around these parts... hope his family is doing well.

-One of the greatest innovations in retail in some time is Krogers adding an alphabetical list of items with their respective locations on a placard at the end of each aisle. Sometimes the answer is painfully simple, folks.

-Brohm is going to elevate the talent level at UofL and do so pretty quickly. Not really worried, though. I mean they're going to be a nice little ACC team in 2-3 years, but UK isn't exactly treading water, and the schism between SEC/ACC is just going to exacerbate. Hell, we may not even be playing each other much longer.

But a national Rivals guy was on The Take yesterday and spoke about how everyone not in the SEC/Big Ten is going to be playing with a smaller checking account. Where that will matter is in the coaching staffs, analysts, etc. Basically it's a much more difficult job in the "poorer" conferences and is only going to get harder.

-Was kind of disappointed JEFF didn't take a shot at UK tbh. Guy is kind of a dullard IMO. Not much color there. Never thought Brian was all that interesting either.

-One of the more enjoyable parts of the Stoops era has been seeing him get more comfortable in his skin and show his personality a bit. I don't know him, per se, but I feel like I do know him if that makes sense.

-It's remarkable to me that their head basketball and football coaches are both stars from the 80's/90's. Where else has that happened? It's either profound provincialism or things are so bad you had to leverage the COME HOME plea to your sons. Guessing 50/50.

-This weather is appealing to me. I can't have it ALL the time, but yea, some grey skies, cool damp air... good for my northern European soul. Excellent Joshua Tree weather tbh.

-Tell you what, the Presbyterians do music right. I've assembled a nice playlist on Spotify from the season thus far. DM if interested. Ecce Novum is fantastic.

-Greatest Xmas present of all time was a Goalrilla goal in the backyard. Probably around 1995? Instant game changer... always had something to do, with 4 brothers there was usually a game to jump in on, the dunking... man, it was awesome.

We're on a bit of a sloping lot but I am already daydreaming of the day I put one in for the kids. Going to require some grading, but yea, it's something I *must* do.

-I follow some young Atlanta mother of two/influencer (@darbyfallonclark) on insta sort of like one might read tabloids or watch silly drama shows. She's very pretty and has reasonably good taste (not by mine, but by acceptable standards), however that's not why I follow. I am genuinely interested in the levels of pretentiousness and how it translates to marketing in today's world. Just find it fascinating. Also, I realize what must take place behind the scenes for these pristine images of her and her family to be made and deep down I kind of respect it. That's not easy.

Her husband, a young turk who is clearly successful in Atlanta enterprise, somehow seems to not be losing his shit over the whole mess, but then again I bet she's making a pretty good income doing it and keeps a pretty clean household. Anyway, it's all too much sometimes, but I have these little guilty pleasures with social media as I assume we all do.

But their relationship validates my longstanding theory on marriages. A spouse must provide 2 of 3 fundamental things for it to work longterm.

1. Income
2. Well-kempt household/Food
3. Sex

I know she's got 2 of them down, so he's probably fine with it all. But it takes 2 unless one is so extraordinarily great it compensates for the absence of the others. Like, if your wife makes $500K per year, yea, the house is going to be a shithole and you'll get laid every so often, but you're good. $50K without the other 2? I don't think so...

The world is ending sex life with a complete smokeshow with nothing else to offer? We know that works. See it all the time.

An immaculate house and great cook, but no income and no spice at all? That's where it may get a little dangerous... However, the man would have to shoulder some blame because this scenario doesn't happen over night. I mean you see this one coming during courtship.

-Jeff Brohm's best (senior) season at UofL: 2,626 yards, 20 TDs, 9 INTs

-2022 Graham Mertz: 2,136 yards, 19 TDs, 10 INTs

-Sorry for the ramblings. I have to drive down to Nashville for a company Xmas party and don't feel like working this morning. The lady from our company who put it together said attire is "your Holiday best, but nothing too fancy!"

Whatever in the F that means. I guess I'm hoping my Holiday Best isn't too fancy, or else I'm going to feel pretty awkward.

-Let's retire the word "fancy." Start there.

-Christ, give me strength.

These two Homage offerings are dope

Jockey silks for the claiming races at River Downs?

Way undervaluing the glory of a road W, Brady...
They had beat us to death from 2003-2006.
2007 was my favorite game ever at Commonwealth.

I’m not sure which ending to a season is more disappointing 2007 or 2022. I’m going with 2022. At least in 2007, we beat UL and the national champions before we ran out of gas.

IMO, the 2007 team was the most capable UK team in my lifetime of winning a Natty in a particular season where there was not a juggernaut team if they just had more depth. The one loss that pissed me off the most that season was at South Carolina. The other losses (especially to UT) sucked but also knew the team was playing as hard as they could but just did not have much left in the tank. The LSU game took everything out of them.

Was 2016 when Denzil Ware hit a Louisville player with a trash can? I may be muddling years but if 2016 had the trash can and Stephen Johnson lining up for the first play, saying "I love this shit", and then lacing a 70 yard TD to Juice Johnson, I don't know how a game could be better.

I’m really fascinated by the social media influencer career path. Like, the ones that have hundreds of thousands of followers and came from nowhere. That’s gotta be a strange thing. Also probably a lot of pressure to keep putting out content. Curious to see how it all plays out.

Got a whole Saturday off from sports tomorrow. Planning on making some white chicken chilli and watching the cats eke out a 4 point win at home against an Ivy League school. Anyone talking about the UL game like Kentucky is going to wax them needs to learn coach cal. No way he shows his guy Kenny up like that. 100000% chance that’s a 1 possession game at the under 4 timeout.

Kooky - I know how the Xmas bonus shaft feels. Our small biz (about 40 employees this time last year) made absolute record profits (millions of dollars) on a very large project that took about 18 months. Owner was very appreciative and gave everyone (1) paid day off that could be used anytime in the next year SO LONG AS we proved we were hungover when we used it. Mind you we had recovering alcoholics working for us at the time. This year I anticipate no bonus at all, which would be less offensive. I could go on about this cat but i digress. Just know he’s in the same hall of fame with my FIL

Sitting in the student section at PJCS in 2008 was really cathartic...
Most underrated victory in the rivalry. Pryor could’ve run for miles with none of their skill guys giving chase. Really summarized it.

The UL/UK Football series has been about as bland as a rivalry can be over the last... 20 years?

We've basically traded 4-5 years of streaks over the last 20 years.

Not many “close games” either. We basically take turns beating the shit out of each other. 07, 16, maybe 14 and 02 are really the only “close” games that come to mind.

Dang.

KrazyKat ever thought about buying the small biz that Brax works for?

Don't like the idea of ending WC games on penalty kicks but...is what it is.

- Would like to see Brazil win but they got to this PK by arrogance. Getting ready to start if you are looking for something to watch the next 10 minutes.

@B Rax ...I'm currently in the market for a PM and/or PE.

-you're too kind, sae.

-there was a fad of wearing random college sweatshirts (the simple ones with just "Oklahoma" or whatever)when I was a ute...didn't have to be a fan/have a connection. Weird.

^ Their arrogance beat them. Instead of packing it in and playing solid D in the last few minutes they kept attacking and were vulnerable for the counter attack.

Back in 4th or 5th grade, the Voltron Lions are all anyone wanted for Christmas. 5 big metal, heavyweight toys that resembled lions that connected together ATM to form a giant robot that was a defender of the galaxy or some weird Japanese realm. I had all of the lions (red, green, yellow, and blue), except the one that formed the torso and head (black). We searched high and low and the only place you could find it was Service f'ing Merchandise. Have never heard of that place before or since.

Voltron lasted for about 2 months until the Blue Lion developed a prolapsed anus and could no longer connect.

Rowland also dropped a

on the Coen news too.

Guess Rivals is making a hard push at the end of the year to up subscribers.

Edit: He's going through deleting tweets now that Vince shut him down.

Oliver Miller was awesome to watch for Arkansas back in the day. He would probably be better suited to the game today, come to think of it.
