^Didn't click on the tweet, because I didn't feel like it, and because Linkdn is the worst thing ever invented.

-I'm gonna keep bullying Chase. He deserves for deserting his best friends in a tough situation. We stayed here, in the middle of a cold war, with a fat italian. He moved to Canada to eat bacon and maple syrup. Heck off, Chase. I still love you though but heck right off.

-Need some positive Mont news. Was he in a boot Wednesday? Come on, Tim Tebow and Tom Cruise. Work your magic.

-Belichik. Lol. Should be fun to watch.

-I'm still pissed at YTTV but I'm digging this Zen channel.

-We really gonna run it back with Stoops? FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*UKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

-Been getting whole cream and butter from a local diary farm. Fantastic.

I keep hoping we are in a deja vu of the time after Mitch and Calipari had their office meeting but before the Arkansas news dropped.

The whole situation feels off.

* The first matchup between Pope and Kelsey so far is completely the opposite of the first Calipari v. Pitino matchup here. Surely we aren't going to have the most polite game in the history of the rivalry, are we?

I don't need YOU'RE F***ING WITH THE WRONG GUY REGGIE -- ERIC WILL KICK YOUR ASS! or Demarcus Cousins dropping an elbow in the initial minutes (that probably deserved a DQ, tbh). But I do need some bad blood when we play Louisville.

(Calipari was so awesome when he got here. Sucks what he is now.)

* The fact that Eric Wolford remains employed by my alma mater pisses me off. I don't want to hear anything from Stoops about a culture change until that guy is gone.

Said this same exact thing to some friends yesterday.

I mean…what the **** are we even doing here with that guy still on staff?!?

I don’t give a SHIT what you do in the portal and/or how much money you spend on NIL, with that clown still running the technical side, I have no faith in this team.

Mark gave up. He built his equity on the trenches, and now he’s letting his dipshit friend run the most important one, something we built our reputation on, into the ground.

GTFO. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Stoops got an ankle replacement. That's not like getting a new hip or even a new knee. It takes a LONG time to heal from that. Which means he's not gonna do shit this offseason and we're gonna suck ass next year.

Welp, then Mark has dropped his anchor and accepted his fate. Dude is going to proverbially drag us into the depths while everyone around us rises. And I have no doubt it’s partly out of spite. Dude will bleed us out for every dollar he’s owed, because that’s just the angry little Youngstown (so over the Youngstown thing, but I digress) f***** he is.

EDIT: And before PTI comes in and corrects me, yes, I get it, I also would not just walk away from that amount of money.

I am willing to bet that he doesn't. I'm not saying we're going to get off easy, but I bet he will get less than he's owed.
I keep seeing people saying this, with no logical backup whatsoever.

1) Why would he (ANYONE) just walk away from that amount of money?

2) Who is going to pay to buy it out (psst…NO ONE, especially after the disaster he’s led here the last couple of years)?

It’s like people just think they’re going to manifest/will it into existence if they keep saying it.

Because, in reality, UK can pay whatever they want - and then the only recourse to get what you’ve been “promised” is to sue. And the massive legal fees, time, stress, and inability to move on until it’s been settled cause most people to just agree to a settlement and move on. It’s why lots of contracts are generally pretty pointless.

I know a bit about the legal world/contracts…

Taking your hypothetical to the end, depending on how pig headed he is (pun completely intended), Stoops can certainly afford the legal fees, assuming he hasn’t blown the tens of millions he’s already earned. He’s the type of angry person that would fight it all the way, just for the principle (have seen it many times). And this university isn’t exactly swimming in liquid cash.

Admittedly, I’m also crossing over into speculation at this point, but I still believe that scenario is much more likely than him just folding his hands and saying, “Thanks for the opportunity, guys,” and walking away with significantly less than he feels he is owed.

He literally has ALL of the leverage right now (because of Mitch, but that’s a whole other conversation). I genuinely do not understand how so many people aren’t getting that.

I’m sure this is a very unpopular take, but just not a fan of NOLA. On plane back home after being down all week. Maybe it’s because I’m not a seafood or Cajun food junkie. Just felt uncomfortable all week any time I walked out onto Canal. Not my jam.

I didn't say he'd walk away from the money. I said I bet he walks away from some of the money provided he doesn't turn it around next year. Here's why - assume the following:
  • You're already worth at least $25M
  • You're owed an extra $40M (which is like $20M after taxes)
  • You want to coach again somewhere.
  • You care somewhat about your legacy at a school where you're the highest paid coach of all time.
  • You're going to be one of the most hated men in Lexington for four years. Every fall Saturday you're getting booed. Every time you go to Ruby's people are giving you shit.
Assuming all that is true, there is a number less than $40M and more than $0 pretty much anybody would take to move on.

I have this ridiculous theory/hope that Stoops back channeled to Sumrall that he wanted one more year for he and his staff to get paid and that’s why Sumrall extended his contract despite being one of the hottest names in coaching. Gives HCMS a chance to attempt to salvage a decent exit, buys time to work on the buyout and for assistant coaches to plan their next move.
