Grant Williams

Butler is arguably the one guy in the league you don’t want to trash talk bc he feeds on it unlike most the modern guys. He’s one that you’re best just leaving alone or complimenting after a play and hoping he just gets lulled into going through the motions and facilitating. But if you give him something to get hyper focused on he takes it to another level

Not an nba guy, but have been watching the playoffs a bit. Butler is my favorite player right now. Straight dog...junkyard dog

The crazy part about the Grant Williams trash talk is he did it off a wide open 3. He did nothing special to trash talk a star player like Butler lol.
Yeah. He’s just trying to be one of the guys he’s not good enough to be

But the bigger issue is where is Brown and Tatum to check him? Butler is a guard/forward combo…so are Brown and Tatum. But Celtics call on a guy who checks bigs or power forwards to play him in open court with no help. And Butler made tough shots….and when Jimmy missed….Heat got rebounds.

The true shame is on Brown and Tatum

Jimmy Butler is a throwback player to the early 80s .... Magic, Bird, followed by The bad boys and MJ. He is tough on tough and lives for these big games and moments. R-E-S-P-E-C-T was earned back then, and then given to those that proved worthy. It was not anointed on those that just whined they weren't being respected because they had big $$ contract, a nice car, and a fur coat.

Jimmy Butler is the guy you want in your foxhole when the shit hits the fan. Loving this.

Only one problem. I'm a Celtics fan since the Bill Russell days. We got a coaching issue right now and its getting exposed.

Jimmy Buckets is the baddest dude in the league. He don’t care to score ugly, whether or not he looks cool, if he has to do the dirty work or if he is the star of the show. The man just wants to win. Stats mean nothing to that guy. Walking off the court a winner is what it’s all about.

He is carrying his team while inspiring his teammates to play above their abilities. Give Bam credit as well, he is a big reason why they are having success. But Jimmy B is a LEADER!

Bad take. Massive Celtics fan. I am glad he at least gives a damn about winning. So, Jimmy Butler was going to miss those shots if he didn’t talk crap? Ridiculous. Better to “poke the bear” instead of failing to score a point the fourth quarter like Tatum. Maybe if everyone played like Grant we win the game. We are so soft.

Also we really have no right to be shit talking other programs given we are a few injuries away from only having four scholarship players.

Especially in the playoffs. Has Williams slept thru the past like 5 years? Watch no tape?

No way he was gonna out coach Spolstra. He’s done a great job overall. He’s learning, it’s kinda like the timeout issue he had in game 1. 2010 soured me on Mazulla for life.

Tatum is so inconsistent, he plays like a Monster for entire games, then he will have 30 in the first half, and then disappears for entire quarters. I think they need to trade Brown for another type of player. This trying to decide which one of them is the man hurts them when the Finals come around.

Always respect your insight. Definitely a possibility if we lose the series. Maybe JB and someone else/an asset for Dame and the #3 pick? That would give us either Miller or Scoot. Not bad. I still have a weird feeling we win this series.

I’d like to see Dame have a winning squad. He would be amazing in Boston. I think he probably stays in Portland tho. The Celtics could scoop the 3 pick and some players for Brown. I don’t know who else they have on the current roster that would Entice Boston enough unless they use the pick to flip for another player they want. Maybe a 3 team trade.

Not to sound entitled, but we're the damn Boston Celtics. You don't "learn to coach here, you get this job because you already know how to coach. Fire this kid, let him go learn what he's doing somewhere else. Not in Boston. Our window for a title isn't big enough in the east to throw away seasons like this. Milw & Phil were our 2 big obstacles to the finals. Golden opportunity squandered.

He thought he was still on Rocky Top.
He got by with that $hit for 5 years in the SEC.
He was only at Tennessee for 3 years. Hate him all you want but he was still a 1st Team All-american and 2 time SEC player of the year. He was a great college player and is a average NBA player.

At some point the players need to be held accountable as well as, if not more than, the coach. This is so pathetic. Just disgusting on all levels.

I’m actually impressed that he has found a niche to still be in the league. He is a lot better now, he is stupid but will he learn

Right. When he got drafted i thought there’s no way this guy sticks for long. A lot of his success at tennessee was aided by a friendly whistle and lots of flopping. I figured, he’s not going to get that treatment in the nba. But to his credit he hasn’t needed it. He’s carved out a role on a good team as a solid 3 and D guy.
