Goodman must abhor Calipari

He also brought up (for the second time I believe) how Pope lets the players speak in post-game. And then went on to say how Cal would talk for 5 minutes and never answer the questions. He definitely hated Cal, not us

I think in general Calipari speak gets tiring quick especially if the results aren't there as well.

The media perhaps even more so than us fans grew tired of Cal. No one enjoys talking to a rambler + when you've heard the same story a million times you'd rather lay down in your coffin than hear him speak.

It is possible that Pope will be the anti-Cal, in that he starts to make fans of the media and sport itself, as opposed to making enemies and starting his career disliked.
Disliking Big Cat Mark Pope is a ridiculously tough assignment.

Even The Playa Haters Ball thinks he is a righteous dude.

Heck Cal does not like Cal at this point. He hates his decision, he hates the City he lives in, he hates going home to a wife that hates living there.
All he had to do is step aside into that ambassador role. Everyone would've been happy.

Imagine having Cal ambassador/NIL pusher and Pope running Xs and Os. Man, would've been something. But as always and will always be with Cal's legacy here.

"Man, the things we could've done together."

Especially when your job requires you to write a perspective of the game…specifically writing in a way to relate/connect the coaches and players to the fans.

How hard it must’ve been to not get accused of being a lazy writer when the coach gives the same schtick for ten years whether it’s relevant or not. It’s no wonder the media writers wouldn’t like him

Goodman is like most people, he is good to those that are good to him. Pope has always been nice to him, so he reciprocated. Cal was not very nice to him, so…

whoever Goodman was working for in the mid 2000's , Cal called them and tried to convince them to fire Goodman for an article that was negative about Cal. I think he tried to do the same to Parrish also.
