I guess that T-12 earns him $65,000 more than a T-22 or worse caused by darkness.
Still, very odd and selfish.
He always seems kinda fake and phony to me.

He moved up 10 spots to 103rd and more comfortable in retaining his card for next year, plus a better shot at top 70 for the following week's event.

He also took a temporary immovable obstruction drop this morning, which would have delayed play even further yesterday had he done that, and that would have held up Greyserman.

People probably need to wait on the facts before ripping into something they aren't clear about.

Take today away. He's still cheap for what he did in Mexico. So no, me saying he's cheap still stands. Me and millions of others. Even the caddie in Mexico thought it was pathetic that he offerred him more money later after being shamed. The caddie wouldn't even accept the money. But thanks for the scolding, not really.

Top 70 is locked in. That was the season finale. SO no, it did NOT help him have a better shot for getting in the top 70( Fed Ex playoff.)
Probably need to know the facts before ripping into someone on something you obviously know nothing about.

I had the tourney's confused in thinking there was one more before the T70....but he did help himself in moving to 103 dipshit.

Well it doesn't work that way, DIP SHIT. You can't call other posters out for not knowing what they are talking about, then excuse yourself for the EXACT same thing by simply saying "I had the tourneys confused". As the case with MOST of your post, YOU do not know WTF YOU are talking about, but are quick to call someone else out. To make it worse, you doubled down trying to call me out, when I didn't mention anything about him moving to 103, I said he can't get into the top 70, which he can't. The regular season has ENDED. YOU was clearly WRONG and trying to excuse yourself, sorry, not happening, nice try though.

DIPSHIT !!

Got anymore ? I am here all day and would love to continue to break you down like a shotgun with your know it all BS. IF you knew half of what you THOUGHT you knew, you will be pretty smart, but you are NOT.

My course (Shady Hollow) is closed for a tournament so figured I’d try somewhere else.

Got my second under par round ever today. 70 at Shady Hollow.

My kid played in that high school tournament and shot his best round ever in high school golf. He felt like it was one of the harder courses he's played so he was really happy with his score considering he had never played there. Two holes kept him from having a really special day. It's pretty cool to see your kid finally sort of put it all together on the golf course.

So refresh my memory, anything after the Tour Championship is like the play-in games for the 2025 Tour?

Also, Nick Dunlap with two tour victories may not qualify for Top 70 because one of those was when he was an amateur and not a member of the tour so it won't count.

^^^there isn't a perfect system in any sport that culminates in a winner take all process, but the PGA Tour is as close as it comes, and the players love East Lake....and the money. Fabulous course, and I will be enjoying it for a couple of days as I do most years. I'd be happy to show you the ropes....pun intended. Thanks!!

Rory is looking forward to it....

"I love this format because if it wasn't this format, then none of us would have a chance against Scottie [Scheffler] because he's so far ahead," McIlroy told reporters on Wednesday.

"He's so far ahead, and you don't expect Scottie to finish outside the top five, either.

"But the way -- I think it makes the Tour Championship more exciting from a consumer standpoint.

"Is it the fairest reflection of who's been the best player of the year? Probably not.

"But I think at this point we're not in for totally fair, we're in for entertainment and for trying to put on the best product we possibly can."

McIlroy added: "The first year that it was the starting strokes at Tour Championship in 2019, I was able to win that one, and then in '22 again.

"I like this format. It sort of feels like it's a bit of a reset after the regular season.

Great to hear! It’s a fantastic course! If he played the front 5 or 7 got him. If the back, it was 15.

The fact that the "Tour Championship" is a 30 man no-cut handicapped tourney is absurd. Use whatever method you want to give away all the money but considering that tourney competitively anything more than a 4 day member guest is an eye roll.

Pretty gutty performance this week by Hideki. Trouble at the airport getting his wallet stolen and his swing coach and caddy not making it to Memphis. Uses a "backup" caddy and wins. You tha man Hideki.

LIV golf TV ratings were abysmal this weekend. Saw this on internet:

"As per ratings, LIV Golf's latest event at the Greenbrier failed to impress, drawing a minimal 136,000 viewers on Saturday and 165,000 on Sunday on the CW. But here's the kicker: those numbers were crushed by the Pro Pickleball Association's Bristol Open. The sport drew a whopping 295,000 viewers on Fox on Sunday. Yes, you read that right"”pickleball outdrew LIV Golf"

But to be fair, PGA is hurting as well, same article:

"TV ratings saw a staggering decline in viewership. The event saw a whopping 1 million decline in fans who turned on their TV, compared to last year's. Moreover, its final round on NBC drew a disappointing 2.2 million viewers, a significant drop from the 3.2 million who watched Lucas Glover's win in 2023 on CBS."

Still PGA drawing 15X LIV golf in terms of number of viewers. For the life of me, cannot understand what the Saudis think they are accomplishing. Even rich people get tired of throwing money out the window. Off season will be interesting, seems like both sides would be well advised to cut a deal of some sort to end the divide which is helping no one.

Golf ratings are down this year on the telly in general. The Masters (which included all top players) was down 20% from 2023, so you can dismiss the fact that some of the world's top names not in attendance hurts ratings for the regular/playoff events.

Phoenix/Bay Hill down 30% from last year.

Fan fatigue and various social media platforms to watch golf are just a couple of reasons.

On the flip side, the PGA in Louisville this year had record attendance numbers, as did the inaugural Myrtle Beach Classic which set a record for a first year tour event.

In comparison, MLB attendance is back up this year after a decline. Sports and stuff I suppose.

What are sure things in this world? Death, taxes and @catsfanbgky typing random words in all caps while arguing with someone in any thread you click on.

That's a very short sighted and clueless post considering the $$ payouts and what the difference is between a low and high finish for some. Also, unless you have actually been there to watch the "member guest" and their obvious ho-hum nature.....right?

So we agree... it's just about distributing money. That's fine. All real competitive talk goes out the window when you play a handicapped, tiny field, no-cut, PGA event.

I have absolutely no interest in going to Atlanta in August for that nonsense. Hard pass.

Yes, you have been very vocal about how much you love that mediocre golf course. Surprised you didn't burn it down in 2018 when Tiger won.
