S&C, I think you're confused about the timing of the "wrong of purpose" incident.
I saw where Maggard put something out about UK recruiting someone who wasn't even on their radar, and KSR ended up talking about it as well.
"Wrong on Purpose" came from the Coach O hire, I believe. Maggard said he had to intentionally lie to his readers because of some supposed behind the scenes insider information. Dumbest thing I've heard.

Giles has already blowed out his right knee. Now the other knee is gone. The chances of him making it through 82 nba games plus playoff isn't great. Hell making it through 40 college games will be scary on 2 bad knees. Kinda harsh to say but he could end up just taking up a roster spot for Duke and thats about it. Two blown out knees is taking a huge chance.
I believe Maggard was wrong on purpose because he was trying to help throw things off. But he really should of just said nothing about the assistant coaching position.

This guy gave an honest and legit answer, which was the truth...why in the world would you mock him? He is one of the more sensible posters on this forum (that's a small group). He has, on numerous times, provided very frank feedback on MM...most of which is negative or "haven't talked to him in years, don't care to".
You can believe what you want, but if you don't think there is controlled mis-information coming at any given time, you have your head up your own a**...
Didn't know until your post that it was both knees. That's actually more promising than the same knee, IMO. If he had two ACL tears on the same knee, all he needs is one more and that could end his career. Single ACL tears you can come back from much easier. AND I'd bet a big reason he tore the OTHER knee because he was favoring the first one.
I still think he's OK for an NBA career, and probably even Duke. The question is how he rehabs and how much effort he gives playing for free in college. He may like Duke more than any other college, but the dream, the goal, is the NBA. And to make a living doing it. It will be interesting to see. We could watch someone totally kill it, going full speed on two bad knees, we could watch someone totally mail it in until the NBA, or we could see a very promising career completely derailed by knee injuries.. neither would shock me.

Coack K is ruining college basketball. It won't stop either with his newly created position with Team USA basketball once he retires. He can recruit a kid with much more access and promises. Remember when Plumlee over Boogie was a thing. Both made the team, but it would have been interesting if Durant hadn't dropped out and the injury to George.

Well it was nice to think it could happen, but I believe this surprised absolutely no one. Hope he's able to get by the injury, and still realize his potential. Hopefully he's at Duke long enough to experience what it's like to lose to UK.
Loved to had got Giles, but you win some and lose some. Good luck kid and hope you have a speedy recovery.

I would think he will be good to go one year from now and play his first season.
