Frosh Kennard Made 6 of Duke's 11 Three-Pointers in Their Exhibition

Kennard will be a very good college player and probably be at Duke for three years, if not all 4. I don't have the same love that many UK fans on here seem to have for the kid. I wouldn't trade Murray for Kennard. Yeah, we get Kennard for more years, but i'll take my chance with Murray's one year at Kentucky and a shot at winning a title over a kid staying a few years and not. The kid can shoot. I'll never understand how a "lifelong Kentucky fan" could ever go play basketball at Duke. Don't get me wrong. If you're going to Duke as a student, i have no problem with that. If you're playing basketball at Duke and have to play against Kentucky, no way! Cal probably wasn't too upset when the kid went elsewhere.

It could very well be the academics as much as basketball. What kind of student is Kennard? I really know very little about him except what's been said here. Does he really have NBA potential? If it's borderline, he may just be looking beyond playing hoops for a living. Regardless of their teams, Duke is an excellent academic institution.

Kennard's going to be really good. Might as well get used to it.

i watched him play two years ago. he's the real deal and i was really hoping he would come to ky. good ball handler, good passer and great offensive game, obviously. didn't see him play enough to have an opinion on his defense. i have no reason to believe he won't be very, very good for dewk.

If Jefferson doesn't play against us, I think our chances get a lot better. He's nothing special, but he's a solid, veteran inside player that can rebound and get a few garbage baskets. Plus, that's 5 less fouls they have.

As for Kenard, if we had gotten him, I doubt we would have landed Murray, so I am happy with how it played out.

I think about that a lot, and I was always okay with Kennard not picking Cal to okay for. Many may not remember, but Ellerson chose Wojo over Cal. Another commitment I was content with Cal missing.

We can now see 2 things develop this year:

- Cal's ability to develop vs K's ability to develop
- Kennard vs Murray matchup will be terrific to watch as a sidebar to the main event in CHI.

As far as Duke having injuries; I'd like to see them at full strength. We have more than enough skill to match up with ANYONE they play.
