First Practice in the books. (Pictures)

Practice inside? Why?

The use of the indoor facility is somewhat weather based, but also propaganda based.

I'm sure Tony Neeley and the staff want a certain number of films/photos inside the indoor facility. Might have had a youngster or two on an unofficial that got to see the interior space, too.

We might not (still) be ahead of most of the SEC with the indoor facility, but we are ahead of a lot of the ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12 in facilities.

A kid from WV (I think on the pay site) went on-and-on about his first SEC offer, and the impressive SEC-type facilities, at Kentucky, just last week.

In the SEC, it just means more.

When our indoor facility was built it was the largest in the country. I’m not sure if it still is. The difference between ours and most others is we have an indoor track around our field. Most of those facilities barely have a sideline.

Didn't I just read about someone building a 32,000 square foot workout facility, was that A&M? That is a football field long by 100'. Thug U built one the length of their football field alongside it, supposed to be $80,000,000 I believe, about 2007 when we had some success to build on------alas, UK was still fiddling, while Rome burned.

Great improvements, but still a way to go before we challenge Bama.

Although some think we should be ready now.

I don't know if it still is but ewetees indoor was just half a field in length a while back.

When they started the project it was advertised as full length and $80,000,000 IIRC, but they may have scaled it back-----that would be a big dropoff though. I think the cost did go down too.

Anyone else read about a 32,000 square foot exercise facility?

You do realize that with ouralreqdy long existing indoor field facility plus the new training center UK has about 200, 000 square feet of indoor space solely for the football program, right?

Your casino?

Nah, sold it last year, wanted more time to spend on here, much more rewarding, not quite as much money, but what the hell.

How about you, did you give up your full time job, retire from work, lose your wife, and have family move away?

Or is this your full time job?

Here is one sites opinion of the fifteen best indoor facilities in the US, several of them in the SEC, naturally. Alas, no UK, even though our fans think we have the best now------newest yes (part of the problem), best, no.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2624636-15-best-indoor-facilities-in-college-football

And the money spent went a LOT farther back when most were built, you know, when FOOTBALL was emerging as THE money cow. UK spent about the same, maybe more, on the "Basketball" facility as we just did on the "Football" facility-----and they got a lot more for their money and have had the use of it for over a decade. And how about that "Coal House", back when we couldn't afford to put carpet on the concrete floor or replace the folding chairs in that corner of a warehouse they called a "recruiting room". Unforgettable -----AND unforgivable.

I noticed that they said Michigan is one of two schools with TWO indoor football fields, who is the second? Wasn't the old football facility given over to the other sports, and wasn't it shared for quite a while even before our new facilities were opened. Quite a facility, for the last century. Are they still counting that for football?

I have read that California was doing a $400,000,000 sports facilities upgrade several years ago, and Arkansas supposed to be starting the same when BP was run off instead of sent to jail, (money talks, wonder how much of jurich's $45,000,000 gift from jurich he will end up with), and A&M spent $400,000,000 just to UPGRADE their 100,000 plus stadium. I don't think they deleted 6,000 seats either.

Newest, yes, nice, yes, a million times better than the "recruiting room" in use for about 15 years, hell yes.

Best, not nearly, and about ten years head start by the competition, the 07 team would have been something great to build on-----instead of TWO two win seasons.

MUCH better-------since the strike. But mitch will never be my hero.

Dont worry you'll never be his either...loser mentality.

Man I hope not, I can't imagine what his hero would look like.

Minor league stuff, and I am sure no one cares, but I was the MVP in our company flag football league three years in a row, MVP first year, they went to a MVP for offense and defense separately the next year and they gave me my choice, lol, went to one award the third year and I won it but let them give it to the runnerup. True story, maybe hard for even me to believe. Had a lot of good athletes in the league, two honorable mention All American basketball players from Northern Arizona. And I know talk is cheap but I know it is true and that is all that matters to me. Also won the MVP in the company softball league one year, hadn't ever played slow pitch before going to work there. Both GREAT sports, everyone should try to play them instead of sitting on their butt.

Loser mentality, lol, don't think anyone ever said that about me. You are the one that has the loser mentality, about Stoops. And I think it is harmful to the program.

Good point. How about this from a team that never played a football game before 1997. Even UK probably has more tradition than they do.

http://www.bradenton.com/sports/college/university-of-south-florida/article183691956.html

So, for $40,000,000 for the new football center they got 160,000 sq feet, we already had the indoor football practice field and only got 90,000 more square feet for $45,000,000 (from DONATIONS) and only ended up with 200,000 square feet including the existing larger indoor practice field? Remember the $45,000,000 was from donations AFTER losing 20,000 season ticket holders AND the AD getting off his butt-----because he had no choice.

Another example of the compulsive hypocrisy of your posting behavior, with your creepy personal attacks, perpetual negativity toward our university, and the worst word count-to-insight ratio on the entire board.

Just wondering, hope it didn't upset you-------but it looks like it did.

When have I ever been negative toward MY University, or calling for the coaches to get fired, and the best defense is a good offense, lol-----speaking of creepy personal attacks, not that I give a crap about what his highness thinks of my posts.

Twelve years of abominable support followed by doing what HAD to be done to stop the bleeding (losing 20,000 season tickets) with $40,000,000 bonuses from OTHER SEC football programs suddenly available doesn't balance out to me, sorry. And I still maintain a good business man would have INVESTED in the money maker AND made MORE money available for MY minor sports, not lose millions with the bare minimum support AND personal boo boos. There was no reason we fans had to go through TWO two win seasons AND losing almost half the season ticket holders to FINALLY get football some decent support.

How about a rebuttal to the long history of FACTS about the support for UK football-----

Before the strike.

But thanks for asking, do you need a refresher on the FACTS, a long list, I get tired of posting it.

Do you know who JESUS CHRIST Is? If you ever get up enough nerve to talk to him he would tell you. Woopee about company flag fb and softball...and this stuff with Stoops is bs. He has recruited 125 hs kids in his tenure at UK and not one is on an nfl roster...unless you count Toth and he was a walkon...UK was the only SEC school without a player invited to the nfl combine.

And his first good class that should be fifth year seniors NEXT year was coming off TWO two win seasons, NO SEC wins, losses to both johnnie come lately in state schools, with half the class already Joker's commits, and Joker had given up on recruiting, besides everyone in the world knowing he was a lame duck. VERY unfair to judge him on his first class, but then you seem to specialize in anything to make him look bad.

How many of HIS freshmen had a chance to go Pro from his first decent class, didn't FIVE prospects just turn down a chance for big bucks to come back for more of THIS staff's coaching. That says a lot to me.

In politics they would say you are gerrymandering. But thanks for playing, I think NOT having the five go pro says a lot about the coaching staff he has assembled.
