FBI probe news involving Kansas player de Sousa

I'm not going to get in to this any more. You disagree with my opinion and I respect your right to do so. Especially on your home board. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Opinion on what, exactly? That Kentucky is cheating or something? We didn't lose our top recruit last year, and we're not on the verge of losing another player.

The NCAA and the FBI won't stand for your "agree to disagree" non-sense.

I think the shoe companies have decided to bypass the schools and coaches. $50 billion dollar industry. The shoe companies are figuring out a way to get it done without injuring their schools. Nike sales have dlumped and Adidas and Under Armour's have spiked since this new approach. Some schools are turning a blind eye to it.

See FFWhite's post. He briefly stated my premise. Schools aren't cheating (except for Arizona and Louisville who directly participated).

Yeah UNC did nothing. KU does nothing. All the shoe companies faults. You really think that Adidas steered that knucklehead from Maryland to KU with no knowledge from KU/Self? I guess it was just a coincidence that KU really needed a big man after Preston, another paid recruit, got caught up. Get the F out of here with your bullshit.

They "steered" him to Maryland. Kid wanted to go to KU. His handler allegedly (on hearsay) wanted some type of compensation. I'd have to go back and read the news on it, but not interested really in doing so since it is a non-issue.

So how come your players always seem to have issues being eligible?

Let's say for argument sake, Kansas/Self are not cheating. Then what? Incompetent? They aren't good at their jobs and can't figure out which are the problem recruits?

There's absolutely no doubt that Kansas and Kentucky are doing things very different from one another. Kentucky always seems to avoid these kids... every year. Meanwhile, Kansas.. buries their head in the sand? Doesn't care? Realizes they can't compete with Cal and K for the top guys?

Seems as if there is always something going on with KU basketball players and nothing ever happens to KU. Even the Alexander situation, KU did not even forfeit one game. They are protected as much as UNCheats and Duke.

Oh I forgot! Adidas steered him to Maryland. One of the flagship schools where do many 5 stars end up. Get real. Self found out he needed a big man after Billy got caught. None were available because the season already started, except DeSousa. Self and KU either worked through Adidas to get him or directly paid him and his handlers. Either way, it couldn’t be more obvious. If the kid wanted to go to KU so bad, why did he never take a visit there? He didn’t care what school he went to as long as he got paid. The rug doctor came in at the last minute and bid the most.

I get it. You love KU and love is blind. It is making you irrational though and soon your entire fan base is going to feel the same as Louisville.

I love this thread. The KU fan is so used to the smell its like it doesnt exist anymore. I understand his Bam argument and if it was proven UK in some way was aware of the payments and it wasnt related to NCSt (which i still believe it was) i could understand vacating games in which he played. But will KU vacate all the games over the last 5+ years that had multiple players caught within the KU program accepting cash/cars? At some point you put A and B together. You can claim innocent until proven guilty. Thats going to be your move as a fan. But if it looks, smells and tastes like shit. Its probably shit.

It’s hilarious that a staff member had to contact Adidas and ask for money to be sent to Bowen but for some reason Adidas just does it automatically for Self because they have psychic link that knows which recruits Self wants above all others. Otherwise it would be a waste of money if Adidas sent 100K over to joe blow and KU was just recruiting him as a backup option

This is from the Miami Herald:

https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/heat-check/article201742199.html

The document lists Adebayo as having received a $36,500 payment, which is listed as “bad loan.” Adebayo never signed with ASM Sports.

So, is Kentucky going to vacate the games he played in? Is the $15K alleged in De Sousa's case fact without proof, but this one is made up? Do you see the hypocrisy?
I see the dumassery of a 2nd rate fan for a cheating rape team coming here to tell the cats about cheating. Baby in a corner sucks ducks in the attic.

You only had to look at the character of the guys KU was getting to realize they would get caught up in any pay for play scandal.

Pushing women down stairs, trashing people's cars, getting in fights in practice, recruiting the Lawsons.

Lay with dogs and you get fleas...
Dont forget RAPE the bunch of dirtbags.
babyincoorner needs to send his daughter there to school with those thugs.

Rock Cheat Jayhawk, UNCheat, and Puke are the cheating kingpins.

That's one argument. Another is he didn't want to go to Maryland. Then he reached out to KU to recruit him, we did and he came to KU. I think mine is more reasonable. Just like the article from Adebayo's coach on why he decided to go to Kentucky when everyone thought he was headed to NC State. It does happen you know and doesn't have to be about the school cheating.

If the school was found to be directly involved, like the coaches at Arizona and Louisville, then I agree. If not, I've posted my position. This is a wide spread problem and they aren't about to vacate every school's seasons.

I still ask.. Why aren't you taking issue with your program and coaching staff. I don't think they'll vacate a ton of schools.. But it does seem Kansas
and Arizona are very high on the list. Meanwhile, kentucky, while named, appears pretty safe. Kansas and Arizona could still get punished, while I think Kentucky is on that level of "too big to fail" if they get punished.. I mean.. It's not like Kentucky didn't just have two eligibility issues in the last year.. They've been clean otherwise.

But back to my question above.. It's still the Kansas fans being hurt by this. You're going after problem recruits that most top programs want nothing to do with. Whether you get punished or nothing comes of it.. There's still and issue that almost every year you have some problem recruit.. Or a character issue.. Something that severely hurts your team.

Any school who played a player after this information came out last Fall should lose any games they won with that player playing. It's that simple. If they knew (and they did) that De Sousa was under investigation, then they should have held him out until he is cleared.

So since the Jailhawks and the Rug Doctor cheated does that mean they will have to replay the final four so Rat Face and Dook will be included ?

I'm no KU fan but if I'm under federal investigation I don't turn over anything to Forty and Thamel-toe..I hire a damn good attorney..
Agreed. I wouldn't release anything to Forty and Thamel even if I had nothing to hide. Theres no reason someone should voluntarily hand information over to journalist. That doesn't sound unusual.

5 years later, my promise came true. KU now feels what UL went through having to pull a banner down. Rightfully so.

Hey, at least you have a bunch of other banners hanging up there, even though most don’t mean a damn thing.
