Cal has an illness ... he's a narcissist. I was so happy to hear Francessa call him out. He deserved it 1000 times over. He's a crap coach ... JMO.

If I remember correctly, the same exact thing happened with Jim Rome. Cal called into his show, they had a regular interview, but when Cal hung up, Rome said he was a mediocre coach. Cal called him back all pissed off.

Cal is relevant only because he coaches at Kentucky. The media(outside of Kentucky) doesn't hang on his every word. His largest newsworthy attraction is how far UK has fallen over the past 3 or 4 years.
You live up in the NYC area? I've never been there, flew to Queens last October for my second trip with my husband. We're thinking of going up that way again in June.

I'm in basically an NYC suburb over in Jersey. The secret is living in Jersey gives you the perks of the city without the higher taxes and dealing with the downsides of actually living in the city. Plus the pizza and bagels are better in Jersey.
Cal had been scheduling at least one game a year in NYC and I was loving it. Made it easy to see the Cats.

Personally, here for the long haul. Where Cal sits in tenure is now unprecedented at UK with exception of Rupp. I'm putting my UK fan boy hat on in hopes that he rights his wrongs. Much easier and more likely to say he doesn't than he does. No fun in not believing, that is where I am.

Mike and Cal have a long history. This was mostly tongue-in-cheek stuff. Cal had just ended an interview with Mike prior to this call and Mike made some offhanded remark about how Cal was a great recruiter but not necessarily a great X's and O's guy. I really think Cal was just goofing around.
Back when Cal coached the Nets he was a lot more sensitive and he actually did hire/pay people to call up to Mike and the Mad Dog and defend him or argue on his behalf. That's been documented.
