I was experiencing a migraine and listening to the announcers of the Ohio State/Michigan game ( I believe it was that game-- my head was throbbing) and one announcer asked another what he thought was the reason for UK's troubles the past two games. The other announcer ( I'm sorry I didn't get any of their names ) said that he thought that the team had problems. He continued and said this team had 9 NBA first-rounders and he thought that it was finally causing some problems on the team.

When I finally started feeling better, I immediately got on Rupp Rafters and was shocked that no one had started a thread about what this announcer had implied. Basically, this guy is implying that team turmoil is occurring and that is why we are playing so poorly!

I strongly disagree. What say you?

We aren't allowed to discuss this sort of thing here without being "clutter" but I can't rule it out as a possibility. They were all home for Christmas, with lots of people in their ears. They might have been talking about stats, or some players slipping down draft boards. I have no clue if that's the case, but given when the poor play started, it's possible some players became more selfish after the holidays.

If so, it would be a shame. We played AMAZING in the Bahamas when no one had reason to even care about stats.

Disagreeing with another teammate has never hurt the 2FG% by 10+% over a span of 3 games in the history of ever.
Very dumb thing for the announcer to say.
I guess next they'll have us think that WCS and Marcus Lee fighting over who gets the last bagel in the morning will cause our 3 point shooting percentage to drop.

First off, nine 1st rounders?
The Sixers don't have nine 1st rounders!
And that's why we beat them. Duh.

Last year people suggested from November to March 10th that we were a team full of headcases and uncoachable nuts.

I'm always leery when people on the outside--fans, commentators, experts--start talking about "turmoil."

I'd say every team ever assembled has had some semblance of turmoil. It's inevitable when you're dealing with this many egos and when the pressure is ratcheted up this high. Most of the time it's overblown and the team with the most talent is standing there on April 1st.
