Playing great defense and offense.....hey, if Poythress is going to struggle, play Willis. He is becoming pretty solid defensively and offensively.

Did Willis seriously grow up a Card fan? Hadn't heard that one. Good to know he saw the light if true.

Yes, he's a UL fan and his mother is full blooded Eskimo as well just to clear up the confusion people seem to have around his ethnicity/race/nationality or whatever

Grew up in Shepherdsville went to Brooks Elementary both in Bullitt Co. Needless to say Im loving this from Willis.

Derek Willis has a confession to make: He grew up a Louisville fan.

Born and raised in the Derby City, it was only natural for Willis to turn to the Cardinals. His parents grew up U of L fans, so he became one. He wore red and got into arguments with his Kentucky friends when Louisville played the Wildcats.

Only natural? pfft, Bullitt county is like 75% or greater UK fans from what I've seen

Willis played another great game. Really glad for him. Looks more at ease playing this year.

I saw his mother once. She is a nurse I think. She worked on the floor my mother was in about a year or so ago. She's a tall lady.

Please don't start calling players with these Linebeard names,if I hear D-Elvis ,I will have to do something I've never done and use the Block feature.I cannot stand the Ghetto UL player names.Next we'll have Calipari tattooing his back and Kenny Payne hiring skanky looking hookers for the Coal Lodge

Willis is doing wonders for Bullitt County.

By the time he graduates maybe meth, mustangs, monte carlos and tornados won't be all they are known for.

I love hearing all the Little Brothel Fans crying about how he should have came to the Little Whore House School because he'd never see any playing time or improvement here

When Willis is on the floor he's shooting lights out, playing good D, blocking shots, rebounding, and makes some great passes in transition. And he's making it look easy. I'm loving it.

It's a developing story I really like. A guy some said should be playing more, and other's suggested should transfer. Opportunity has knocked on his door this year, and he's thrown that door wide open to greet it. I'm guessing he's currently the 3rd leading scorer on the team, and he's playing very well in most every aspect. I'm on board his bandwagon.

It's great to see him playing so well. Not only for his sake, but for the team's sake. We need him to play a major role this season.

I've taken to calling him Willis the Thrillest when he drains a three.

I also yell other random things at the TV/Computer screen during games, FYI.

I'm really hoping Willis continues to improve, maybe it will help in recruiting when other coaches say you're never play at Kentucky.

Says Josh Harrellson and Deandre Liggins off the top of my head, from what I've seen,Calipari will play whoever works hard and puts in the time and effort, anybody (like the moron ULFans) that thinks John Calipari only recruits ready made talent and has no Coaching ability is delusional ,and just a pure hater, the man works harder than those that use whores to recruit with and have No idea what goes on in the dorms at night
