We HAVE to recruit these type of players to build a solid foundation from long term success. While there is some question marks (according to his scout profile) to decision making and 3 point shot, the athletic ability alone is worth looking at taking a shot with. Work with him on his game for 2 years and by his junior he is ready to make that leap, if not, its still not a loss. You have a talented, athletic player pushing people in practice.
While Cal is grabbing Elite freshman one right after another, You have to prepare for the what if's, and there is a ton of them. You miss out on a recruit, god forbid one gets hurt. You need solid bench players, that are vested in the system. They help fill gaps, help teach the system, push the stars in practice, and can be called on in there later years to help make runs.
