This dude reminds me of Derrick Anderson. This kind of athleticism on next years team, and the fact that Quincy Miller wants to play with him....PLEASE OFFER DUECE

Duce Dunks...Just From This Season Alone!

He is no where near as good as Derek Anderson. He is a great athlete, but just an average basketball player.

From what I have heard hes not even avg. He is a grat athlete thought. Will never get offered by UK.

All of those dunks came against little white dudes. It was like there were a bunch of oompa loompas trying to guard him.

Just saying...its a basic recruiting model. Florida does it all the time in football, as does the NBA & NFL. Take a stellar athlete (Bello) put him in the right system (dribble drive), and use him as a specialist.

He could come in, provide a serious spark. And that kind of finisher could easily draw fouls against an opposing big man.

But we're gonna have a limited number of scholarships and we're trying to catch bigger and more important fish.

I dont think we need specialist. We are going to have plenty of guys that can do what Bello can do plus way more.

He is no where near as bad as people want to make him out to be. He is a solid 4 star player, with tons of upside. We HAVE to recruit these type of players to build a solid foundation from long term success. While there is some question marks (according to his scout profile) to decision making and 3 point shot, the athletic ability alone is worth looking at taking a shot with. Work with him on his game for 2 years and by his junior he is ready to make that leap, if not, its still not a loss. You have a talented, athletic player pushing people in practice.

While Cal is grabbing Elite freshman one right after another, You have to prepare for the what if's, and there is a ton of them. You miss out on a recruit, god forbid one gets hurt. You need solid bench players, that are vested in the system. They help fill gaps, help teach the system, push the stars in practice, and can be called on in there later years to help make runs.

Not quite. Rivals has him rated a 3 star and ranked number 110 in the class of 2011.

Scout has him rated at 4star. 3 or 4 star withstanding, that does not deter from the point I was making. But to say that he cant dribble, he is not a good basketball player is false. He is raw, with alot of athletic ability. He has some pretty decent schools recruiting him. He would be a good pickup that could pay of huge down the road if we could land him.

Yeah not to make this a racist thing, but the other teams were mostly white... and they weren't even like big white kids... they all seemed goofy...

Considering all the talent we are recruiting in 2011, would you really offer this kid and take a committment from him before say, next June, when you know you will likely land much more talented players. Sure he is a good player, but he is not a top basketball talent and with the scholarships we may or may not have open, we are going to go after the best of the best. We already have the top 2 and have really high interested from several more top 10 and lots more 5*. We will have at most 2 or 3 more scholarships available for those guys. IMO, Bello never gets an offer and if he does it is late next spring when we havent been able to get guys we wanted and more than expected left early for the NBA.

If Miller will not come unless we offer Bello then fine let Miller go elsewhere. We will just offer Davis instead.

Be shocked if Bello isn't 5* after the summer AAU season. Heard he has been killing it. And Lamb will be here next year, shooting won't be the issue you all seem to make it. Bello is a stud...

Maybe, but he isnt as good as many other players we are after.

About "athletes" --
In 1962, Tom Landry (then, of course, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys) signed a free agent named Cornell Green who hadn't played football since high school but had been a 6'3", 205 three-time all-conference basketball player at Utah State. The pundits asked, "Coach, what are y' doin' ? This guy hasn't played football since high school." Landry said, "You give me an athlete, and I'll MAKE a football player out of him." Green went to five Pro Bowls at two different positions -- cornerback and free safety. Hmmmm.

He isn't as good cause he's a 4 star, right? Well this guy could jump to a 5 star when it's all said and done, and if not, he still has rediculous potential. With Cal, and our style of basketball, he could reach that potential.

Really doubt the 5 star rating...and UK wont offer him
