Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. He is great at finishing too, and Oweh is almost the same. I would like us to do that until it's not working and focus less on 3s.
That's why UK was able to shoot around 80% on their two point shots tonight. Georgia State didn't help off of rotation and left the lane wide open for one-on-one driving attacks.Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. We have those driving lanes because we’re such a threat from 3. No one can leave the corners. The spacing is beautiful. This is why we’ve been begging for a team that can shoot for so long!Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. He is great at finishing too, and Oweh is almost the same. And he was grinning the whole timeI hope teams keep pissing Amari off he was a absolute beast after that maylay broke out
The reason the could drive the lane, is GST was determined to take away the 3 which helped spread the floor and the Cat's adapted and went to the paint, with great success when you look at that shooting percentage from 2. UK uses the threat of the 3 to help set up the 2. If you take away the lane then they kill you with 3's, if you take away the 3 they pound the paint.Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. That Robinson floater in the paint was deadly last night.
Pope ran the same play three times in a row for Robinson as well, that dribble curl into the lane. All three times he scored pretty easily.Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. He is great at finishing too, and Oweh is almost the same. All three of them! That Robinson floater in the paint was deadly last night.
I love his maturity. To be able to laugh and hold back his teammates in the face of such thuggery is a beautiful thing.A
And he was grinning the whole time
Anyone have a clue why Amari only played 19 minutes with Garrison out? Not questioning Coach but just wondering.I hope teams keep pissing Amari off he was a absolute beast after that maylay broke out
Yes it was. He is so smooth with it too. Plays under control. That Robinson floater in the paint was deadly last night.
He did the same thing to Duke.Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. He is great at finishing too, and Oweh is almost the same. I would like us to do that until it's not working and focus less on 3s.
Yes, and its working out great so far! It's almost as if we handpicked a team that works perfectly together. Wait....just replace "we" for Pope.
A coach that can coach . Not just recruit high level athletes and roll the ball out and tell them to win.A Coach that can adapt. That sure is a change.
He picked up two early fouls in the first half and sat the rest of it. I believe.Anyone have a clue why Amari only played 19 minutes with Garrison out? Not questioning Coach but just wondering.
Absolutely. It’s not quite as simple as kill them with threes or kill them in the paint. There are two other things you must have to make that such a deadly threat. You have to have a team that can pass the ball, and even more important is court vision, what fighter pilots call situational awareness. And this team has it by the ton.The only way to get those drives is to have 2 or 3 guys out there that can hit the 3 and hit it at a good percentage. Either a team will take away the lane or will take away the 3. Hard to do both as ball movement is faster than any human. We keep moving the ball on teams either way and we will have either the lane (drive) or the 3 open. It is proven time and again. Ball sticks (like some plays last night in the early 2nd half) and teams can make multiple stops, get back in the game. Against Clemson and the Zags UK better have their passing game on 100% going. Should be an interesting week.
Mark, is that you?! 🤔I love his maturity. To be able to laugh and hold back his teammates in the face of such thuggery is a beautiful thing.
I like to see common opponents but I do not go 1 to 1 on the data. Night in and night out, fight in a team, every team in the world, is different for whatever reason, looking towards another opponent, just mentally tired, full moon or whatever.UK did all right against Georgia State but Mississippi State did better against them. I don't like knowing that shit really.
Georgia St
25 41 66
Mississippi St
47 54 101
Mississippi had a bigger lead at halftime and beat them by more.
They shot 34% for the game and 28% from three and only hit five three pointers the whole game against Mississippi State.
Sucks to know
Butler had at least 5 or 6 straight drives to the rim from the top of the key where he was able to get an easy layup. That was so awesome to watch. Love seeing him do that.Butler is almost impossible to guard, at least the competition so far. He is great at finishing too, and Oweh is almost the same. I would like us to do that until it's not working and focus less on 3s.
Is the Kansas City shuffle - if they go left, you go rightThe reason the could drive the lane, is GST was determined to take away the 3 which helped spread the floor and the Cat's adapted and went to the paint, with great success when you look at that shooting percentage from 2. If he gets going it’s really on.Loved the way they were setting screens for Jaxson to shoot the floater. A couple of beautiful sequences early on.
