Cal has been saying all year we need to speed up the tempo. He is constantly on the sideline yelling at Andrew to dribble up the court faster and attack.
But, except for the Tards, every team's game plan is to slow the pace as much as possible: pack in a tight zone defense, milk the shot clock, and minimize the number of UK possessions. The only way to counter that strategy is to intensify your defensive effort... create turn-overs and transition scoring opportunities. That just hasn't happened the last two games.

He made a very good point about letting the other team dictate tempo. We let North Carolina and Kansas push it, which worked out well. Against these teams, we let them slow it down and play their way.
He is 100% correct. There is too much standing on the perimeter passing, and the dribble penetration comes to late and with either Harrison rarely giving up the ball or give up the ball quickly. I thought for sure after Andrew's crappy game at UL, he would focus more on being a distributer but it seems he just does that one pass to Aaron., Plus, way to many off balance 3's.
