Dickinson said UK was "a risk."

A risk that he might not get the playing time he was after?

A risk that someone would fasten his lid shut?

It was either Oscar returning or NIL money. And it also sounds like the one thing that was swaying him, was Cal's ability to get bigs into the league. And then you have this below. Kansas outbid everyone else.

Non guaranteed NILA money is a risk, and he's probably not going to be an NBA player. It was a risk.

Dickinson made one telling comment about his "recruitment." This from an ESPN story:

Dickinson said he strongly considered every school on his list. He called Kentucky a "risk" but said coach John Calipari's reputation of sending big men to the NBA was a factor.

A risk. Cool.
Dude went to Kansas where the only big who had NBA success sat out most of the year due to injury at Kansas in Embiid. They’ve had several elite big man bust. He went to Kansas because Adidas paid him the most money.

Yep. He’s a selfish something.

“I got less than 6 figures for playing a sport at the collegiate level”.

Cry me a river. I don’t mind them getting paid. They should’ve been. But this “well now I’m not getting paid enough” while their peers in other programs around the college aren’t even making double digits is ludicrous.

Greed is killing this country.

I mean, he's not wrong.

False. He was ranked the #1 transfer portal dude, and he wasn't making 6 figures at Michigan. Someone was easily going to offer him more money to attend their school. It would have been dumb financial to stay somewhere making less when you're a hot commodity, and the market says you can definitely make more.

He isn’t and he is.

He’s playing a sport….and not even at a pro level and he’s whining he’s not making enough.

I get it. But at the same time. We’ve got some teachers in public schools barely making 40k and he’s acting like he’s owed millions when he’s not even on NBA draft boards.

NIL is great in concept. But it’s gonna have to be capped somehow.

Guess I’m just old fashioned. I have no problem with him making money. But he’s not even on NBA draft boards. Is he really worth millions?

Yeah Im not saying I blame Hunter at all.

But what I am saying.. is that Kansas basically just outbid Kentucky. This is a very good example of not getting left behind when it comes to NIL.

Well said. And I feel that anyone who supports this nonsense is a big, big part of the problem.

People who wanted him here need to wake up. He’s dogged Kentucky for 2 years straight now. Why would we want him to wear the uniform?

Cal will probably thank him for the “kind” words.

Both are not Kentucky material. And people fell for each.

Either support Kentucky basketball excellence or stay away

Cal was UK material at one point.....but that Cal has been MIA for a long time now.

I doubt he made millions. And he's just a good college player that could help someone make a run at a title.

Talks shit about socialism, wants to cap how much someone can make. SMH

Cool....so you're ok with someone paying say, 10M for a player not even in the NBA lottery zone?

I'm not a socialist, thanks. Salary caps literally exist in the NBA. And the NHL....and the NFL. Heck, even the MLB has a "luxury tax" to curb some spending. They use them to curb costs, and to help foster a more competitive game across the league. Yet here at a lower level, it's the wild west.
