It would have been dumb financial to stay somewhere making less when you're a hot commodity, and the market says you can definitely make more.

I'm not a socialist, thanks. Salary caps literally exist in the NBA. And the NHL....and the NFL. Heck, even the MLB has a "luxury tax" to curb some spending. They use them to curb costs, and to help foster a more competitive game across the league. Yet here at a lower level, it's the wild west.
