Diallo not approved yet, where's Goodman?

FYI, Slice and St. John's is awaiting acceptance for a defensive forward who played with Diallo last year.
So it's not just Kansas taking a risk with this school, Our Savior New American.

St. John's can't explain what the delay is either.

But whoever plays MethZoo would be a close Third.
Are you referring to Louisville?
If you are I'd be curious to know why you hate UL so much. It's not like you, as a KU fan, have many run ins with UL. Just curious.

That would make more sense.
But if he thinks Mizzou is "Meth-U" he should take a gander at UL fans. I would put UL up against anyone in that category.

Are those the only 2 walk ons on Kansas roster?

Asst. Coach Norm Roberts' son, Niko Roberts graduated last season. Josh Pollard nephew of Scot Pollard was also a walk-on but he transferred to a Division II school on the West Coast. They just added a JuCo transfer from Kansas City CC, Clay Young this season. They offered a 'Preferred Walk-on' to David Robinson son, Justin Robinson but he went to Duke instead.

That would make more sense.

I'm not a fan of those rivals-style pun names but for years Missouri was the meth capital of the country. Last year it dropped to #3 behind Indiana and Tennessee. You can take a girl like Jennifer Lawrence out of Louisville but you put her in a movie about meth like Winter's Bone and that movie is going to take place in Missouri. For accuracy.

The NCAA is getting ridiculous with this case. I understand doing your due diligence regarding making sure his academics are in order. But now they are asking for his 6th Grade Transcript. I mean c'mon. I hate KU as much as the next guy, but this is getting a little crazy even for the shitty NCAA standards.

NCAA continues to embarrass itself in Cheick Diallo case: http://yhoo.it/1iQNEaC 2,000 pages of HS homework? 6th Grade transcripts? Really?

As much as I hate Kansas, it appears Diallo is getting the royal screwjob right now. I don't know all of the details, but what they are asking for is basically a history of his entire schooling.

What's next? Copies of finger painting work from kindergarten?

U steal that line from Bilas? lol.

Does Kansas REALLY want to open up everything to the NCAA? That bunch is nearly as corrupt as UNC

Sorry I feel no sympathy for them

I do not feel sympathy for KU, I do feel sympathy for Diallo. For the NCAA to be checking his 6th grade transcripts is extremely irrelevant and childish. The kid, by most accounts, seems to be a very bright kid. For the NCAA to be taking away his athletics in order to review 6th grade transcripts is idiotic, even for NCAA standards.

Looks like Yahoo got it wrong. Jackson is representing Diallo's guardian, not Diallo. Seems as if his guardian is being investigated as well. This leads me to believe that Diallo has amateurism problems on top of his academic problems. What a train wreck.

2. Don Jackson told me the NCAA is looking into Tidian Drame's relationship with Diallo; Jackson is not formally representing Diallo.

1. Attorney Donald Jackson says he is representing Tidiane Drame, a Mali-American who has served as Cheick Diallo's guardian in the U.S.

Since nobody here has access to records or is privy to most of the information it is impossible to determine anything . The NCAA probably has a good reason to continue looking and not allowing him to play . They are applying the same stringent rules that UK and Kanter were held to . We didn't like the ruling and it gave no measure for any flexibility , I expect the same application of rules in this case to maintain fairness .

Not saying Diallo is guilty of anything, but it did get me thinking. Last season Alexander had his problem, and KU has had several other issues in the Self era. And there have been plenty of high-profile D-1 teams and coaches running afoul of the NCAA in recent years.

Is it safe to say that Cal's tenure at UK has been as clean as any coach in Div 1? You can't really hold the Kanter thing against him, because it wasn't an issue of any wrongdoing at all on anyone's part.

Didn't realize it was amateurism issues. Thought it was strictly academic.

The only issues during the Calipari era:
1. Eric Bledsoe - questions about high school transcripts.
2. Enes Kanter - declared ineligible prior to season
3. Anthony Davis - allegations of $120k then inexplicably $200k payments (entirely unsubstantiated)
4. Terrence Jones - traffic accident at 2am, he was a passenger, left the scene prior to police arriving.
5. Skal - jilted AAU/Memphis U. fan alleges guardian asked to make money off Skal, guardian provides text messages to NCAA, Skal cleared.
6. Doron Lamb tweets something stupid, it's taken out of context, x20.

That's it. And really nothing any rivals can hang their hats on. Especially when there are far more egregious issues at other schools.

So this is Diallos second semester at Kansas? How did he perform academically in the first semester? If he was good, drop it and let the kid play.

2 is not an issue. No wrongdoing alleged on anyone's part.
3 is ridiculous and not worth even listing.
4 - Seriously?
6 - Again, seriously?
1 and 5 are the only ones that even merit discussion.

I guess you were trying to be positive, but listing those like that gives them credibility they don't deserve.

If you want to give them credibility then go right ahead. I just listed the only things I could think about that have been issues. Regardless of their merits.

If you want to get technical none of them have been issues in the sense that none of them have impacted the program in any substantial manner.

I thought the list was interesting.

It shows how clean Cal has kept things here at UK while still bringing in the absolute best of the best. Rumors and innuendo is all rivals have. Compared to the very real bodies buried in their backyards.

No "problem children" under Cal, either. Seemed like Tubby had a different one every year.

Not really. It's not all about academics now. His relationship with his guardian is also being investigated, and we all know when guardians/handlers get investigated it always has to do with amateurism issues.

Needless to say, how Diallo performed academically during his first semester at KU is completely irrelevant to the amateurism side of things.

Perhaps Cheick should assert that the basketball court, for a particular 2-3 hour periods from now until April, is his safe space...

It's good that at least one person got the point.

.... Oh well, Kansas can always pass it inside to their do-everything power forward, 8th year senior Perry Ellis. :D

Actually, Ellis has been a fixture (no, literally ... a fixture) at power forward since the mid-1970s; actually, I can't remember a time he wasn't honing his 5-foot and in game in Lawrence. He is now a senior (citizen, that is).
