Diallo not approved yet, where's Goodman?

Somebody call me??

Hate it for the kid, but let me say this as clearly as possible unless it was puke or Uof Smell it couldn't happen to a better fan base !

Great that Blakeney got cleared. Unless there's something really deeply wrong with a new recruit not getting cleared, or something truly shady that SHOULD keep them ineligible, I prefer to as many new kids get the opportunity to show us what they can do and raise the bar for college hoops.

Makes the season much more interesting for good reasons, rather than those bad things (when kn't get to play because of bad issues and whatnot).

I think that's another thing that's been holding back college hoops quality in recent years. I still keep wondering what kind of monster team we would have had with Enes Kanter on the court. I also like to think we would have also seen Jorts still be able to turn things around for himself and still have a great impact on that season even if we did have Enes.

Always a what if game when you don't win a title and come close, but that's the nature of the game, I guess.

Coach K has stolen Kansas mojo.....

That's the part no one is talking about. I think K now embracing the OAD will force Kansas into a "3rd" choice for most of the top tier talent. I also believe getting a guy like wiggins was fools gold and it won't happen much in the future.

They need to make their rulings in both the Diallo and Alexander cases.

Is the Alexander case still ongoing? Are they going to rule on anything before UNC?

I don't care whether Diallo qualifies or not. He'll have his chance to support his family next year.

There's also the unusual circumstance of N.C. State looking like the it Adidas school this recruiting season.

I wonder if that's a temporary situation because of the players involved, or signs of a shift.

Sure sounds like this is a Kansas and Self not having their shit together issue....funny that RC_Texas was posting the other day that the NCAA is looking at his freshman year in Mali, but the Kansas head coach is saying that it's all about the prep school in New York. Is Self a liar or does RC know more about KU recruits eligibility issues than the head coach...

At some point, Self will have an answer on Diallo. He’s hoping for better news.

“Other kids are getting cleared from that school, too,” Self said. “But they just haven’t made a determination on Cheick, because they haven’t had his stuff as long as other kids.”

The Alexander case has already been filed away with the Myron Piggie/Cory Maggette saga. You can also find a nice file on Lance Thomas in there, as well as some incriminating photos of a coked-out Mark Emmert dressed in a leather-clad leotard and he spoon feeds a Ukrainian male prostitute dripping syrup and mint-chocolate chip ice cream.

What about the McLemore investigation? What was resolved? A runner funneling $$, birthday parties, flights to LA for Ben and his uncle etc

I wonder if we'll hear anything today, since Skal was announced two weeks, and Swanigan last week.

Maybe they only work on Fridays?[laughing]

Because he's from another country.

I post here and on Kansas boards too. I cannot recall seeing a negative post about Skal on the Kansas boards or on Rupp. That doesn't mean Kansas fans were rooting for UK. But no-one wants to see a kid sit out because the sheepskin transcripts from his freshman year in Africa haven't been found or a kid that came to the States because his home was destroyed by an earthquake.

Honestly I haven't heard any of you guys say anything bad about Skal on here and I don't visit your board but I understand why some of our fans are a little harsh on KU fans because most of you do hate Cal and our program and have expressed it many times on our site in the last 6 years.

Self also said this:
"Asked flat out if KU has actually received a ruling and KU may be in an appeals process, Self said: “I can’t say. I’ve been told to let the process play (out).”

Translation: The ruling was that Diallo is ineligible and Kansas is appealing.

Unfortunately I think this is right on the money. We're already adjusting expectations having to rely on guys like Mickelson and Lucas as our 5.

I would like to see the kid get to play, guess the NCAA was to busy looking into this to worry about that one little twenty year cheating thing going on down at UNCheat huh ? Nope nothing to see down there , "Just the Carolina Way"

I would almost agree with that except that Diallo is still practicing with the team. If he would have been declared ineligible, I don't see the NCAA saying but it is okay that he practices. And, the word was that Diallo was still hoping that he would play against Pitt State up until 4p on gameday.

I think having Kanter practice helped your team tremendously and if the same thing happens to Diallo I hope for a similar outcome. If anything that guy runs the court nonstop so it would help in practice.

However I don't see a Ben McLemore situation where he sticks around and plays his sophomore year. He's gone.

Diallo should be eligible. He's a great kid by all accounts who is remarkably intelligent.

This isn't a Kansas issue or a Goodman issue. (This is not to say that KU nor Goodman are issue-free-- just that this isn't on them.)

It's an NCAA-is-moronic issue.

At least they got the Purdue/ Swanigan case right.
So are all the other Our Saviour New American kids who haven't been cleared yet. So are all the Prime Prep kids, yall weren't mad when Mudiay wasn't cleared. Why is this different?

Can't deny having them in practice does help.....

oh, nice locker room. Nearly authentic.

Kanter practiced the entire season with Kentucky. That would actually confirm an appeal -- you can practice during an appeal. After Kanter's appeal was denied, Kentucky named him a student assistant so he could practice.

I thought of that. But Diallo was unable to practice during the very start of practice. Then he was cleared to practice. I know I am trying to apply logic to the NCAA, but it makes no sense to not be able to practice during the clearance process, then be denied clearance but be able to practice because you are appealing the clearance process.

He's a top tier talent. Ncaa benefits from him playing. If he is still being held out/is held out, something isn't right. Oh,and pluck yew kansas, and their bread titles. He can study a year or play for money and still get drafted.

Now, you are trusting the NCAA?

We all live under the NCAA corruption so we deal. We do know that some get a different deal from the NCAA than others.

Who ever is playing MethZoo...

Are you gonna sit there with a straight face and tell me Kansas isn't your second favorite team?

Of course they are, you talk about them rather consistently on the board.

With a straight face, I can tell you that Kansas is NOT my second favorite team. They are my favorite. I am Jayhawk. Two degrees. I thought everyone knew that. I didn't think it was a big secret. I did worked for UNLV Athletic Department for a decade, but luckily never had to play Kansas during that time. I would list the Runnin' Rebs as second.

@.S&C You are making me worry about you. Usually Age-related memory lapses don't kick in until your mid-30's. Usually the early 30's is more sexual performance issues.

Issues with your manhood are your issues bro...

Exercise, stop watching 2nd round exits, and lighten up on the blood pressure meds. It'll be beneficial in more ways than one.

You'd honk the NCAA would come to a decision by this point. It pissed me off that some teams have to wait until the season is almost, and sometimes already, underway before knowing if a major player will be playing.

I mean it's not like the coaches have to develop strategies or anything o_O

Sounds to me like the NCAA has made a decision and it's being appealed.
