Depth chart?

I doubt if the coaches have one yet, for all of the positions.

And if they do it might not mean much.

The following players sat out the spring game due to injury; 2 WR Dorian Baker, 8 CB Derrick Baity, 15 JackLB Jordan Wright, 22 RB Sihiem King, 25 FS Darius West, 32 RB Tyler Markray, 34 WLB Jordan Jones, 44 ILB Jamin Davis, 83 TE Justin Rigg, 87 TE CJ Conrad, 89 TE Will Roden

Here is the depth chart I was able to observe but the WR are not locked into one position and could end up playing 2 or 3 of these positions during the course of a game. I took the liberty of inserting those that did not participate in their rightful position on the chart.

You are the man RV2. I added the newcomers in bold and slotted them in where I think they could end up. What do you think?

Admittedly, I have only been really watching UK FB since about 2003. There have been years where the roster had more proven stars, but there was significant drop-off AND there were massive holes in other areas.

While there are some unproven spots, that is deepest roster of strong athletes I remember a on team, and it doesn't include guys coming in this fall that may help provide even more depth... specifically, at RB, TE, and WR.

Our team is as talented as it ever has been. Yes even more talented than our teams that were good in the 70's and 80's. Those teams were extremely small. Even in the 90's we were very small. In 2000 my Senior year I was 5'9 190 Safety. Now they make them taller, and for the most part, faster.

I don't worry about our talent. I worry about our head coach. For those that played you certainly understand what I mean.
Let's hope this is the year it ALL comes together!

Elijah, we've disagreed plenty in the past, but in this instance I think we agree.
I like. Stoops passion
He is loyal to players and coaches to a fault
He cares deeply
He wants all parts...players and coaches...to succeed.
He has recruited to insane numbers for UK.

He has to manage the game. Let bad plays and calls as well as great ones pass. Not only raise expectations for players and coaches but follow through on accountability.

He's got to be the full time head coach that offers direction to coordinators, not the defensive coach over the secondary or co-defensive coordinator that looks at total game half the time.

Right. This is the part that has represented a career evolution for Stoops. It is natural for human beings to stay in their comfort zones. Defense was Stoops’ comfort zone. In the beginning, he was hanging out with the defense while publicly ceding nearly full authority for his offense to coordinators (Brown and Dawson) whom he did not know very well on a personal level. Mistakes were made. He is obviously much more comfortable with Eddie Gran, and they clearly have a better working relationship. In recent years, Stoops has recognized and addressed the need for a full time special teams coordinator, and he has done an effective job of coordinating and funding facility renovations. There has been growth and expansion of UK recruiting budgets and territories, but there will need to be even more of that in the future. In the meantime, Stoops has become a more skilled program manager.
