Deone to the Bills!!

So much talent and ability. I am afraid he doesn't have the desire and will to get the most out of his god given ability.

Imo he'll find it now. Now he won't have coaches terrified of coaching him. Its just s matter of whether or not him loafing for 3 years put him too far behind to make up ground.

He was 50 or 60 lbs overweight all season. His injury is being overstated. You ever just watch him play, he took off more plays than he played and 2024 stats show it.

I just don’t see the self motivation that’s necessary in the NFL to be successful.

First Hairston, now Deone. My future son in law is a huge Bills fan. Guess I may have to start pulling for them. If Deone is fully healthy, they got a bargain.

Wonder what the odds may have been that Deone Walker would get drafted before Shedeur Sanders?
Ray Davis
Maxwell Hairston
Deone Walker
... all with Buffalo now

Hell ... I'd take our kicker, too !!

That's fair because it definitely hasnt shown itself yet. Im going on the assumption he was never pushed or had his position threatened and this will change things.

I disagree, he played all season in pain with fractured vertebrae. Someone who lacks desire, would have shut it down last season.
I’m in the middle here. I know he was hurt but he constantly stayed 20-30 lbs heavy. I may be wrong but IMO he needs to be around 330 to be fully effective. He carries 20 lbs of bad weight. He needs the fire to shed some weight and get in shape

How much does a fractured vertebrae prevent you from lifting and and doing the other things it takes to staying shape? I'm thinking it may pose a major issue. And how may football players continue to play when they have a fractured vertebrae?

Obviously, it wasn't too serious of a back fracture, or the doctors would have never cleared him to play. It's still unacceptance for him to be 50 to 60 lbs overweight for a high-level athlete. He literally blocked himself on plays and gave up on others.

Alright. My daughter is a high level FRESHMAN left handed softball pitcher that started her very 1st HS game and has continued to start AHEAD of TWO returning Juniors.

Now that I have your attention, she has suffered a fractured vertebrae in her lower back 2 out of the last 3 years prior to HS. She was NOT allowed to even play catch for just over a MONTH and had ONE practice ONE DAY before the season. (enough bragging)

This injury kept her from doing anything without pain 24/7.

From what I could find about Deon's injury, I'm EXTREMELY impressed that he played ANY sport let alone FOOTBALL at DT.

Maybe I'm wrong but I give Deon credit for having TREMENDOUS heart playing through that injury.

Mine is still sore after starts about 3/4 of the way through the season.

Very happy for Deon and think he's a big time contributor for years in the NFL!!!

He does take plays off and need to shed a bit of weight BUT if he didn’t care he would’ve shut it down last year with that injury particularly when last season went the way it did.

15 yrs old GS recently suffered a hairline vertebrae fracture described as a "scotty dog" shape. He's heavily into club & HS soccer. He's now in a back brace for 4-5 weeks. Docs say it's fairly common in active HS athletes, particularly boys. Also said he should fully recover. But it ended he's Spring soccer playing.

Might want to read the NFL scouting report on Deone.
They mirror most of the complaints from some of the fans regarding lack of effort, taking plays off, playing too high, not winning at the los, no rush pressure on qb, overweight, out of shape, etc., etc.,

It is obvious there were different standards in that locker room for certain players.

I hope he turns it around. The injuries hurt but sometimes a guy may say, "I can't do this anymore". Can't get in shape, slim down, eat right, get stronger. I wouldn't call it lazy but it has to be every day effort and desire. Maybe he has lost his. You see it with a lot of big guys.

Massive prevention actually. You're spot on.

You want it to heal right and not be an issue later, you can't cut corners. I'm amazed he played with it, and doing so cost him in the draft, though imo he'll be better for it because he landed with the Bills. If you opt for surgery you may never play again. There's no guarantee.

I think he did this the right way, and I don't think he's a kid that will be unmotivated. We need to be supporting him and encouraging him, as if he were the Derek Anderson of UK football. He played SEC football with a fractured vertebra for fks sake!

My buddy has at least 1 slipped disk in high school, maybe 2. He's paying for it now because he played with 2 back injuries. If he had taken the time to heal AND rehab properly, he might have been able to finish college on one of the many football scholarships he was offered, and not have real issues to this day. Back pain and injury is nothing to fk around with.

When the people casting aspersions have similar back issues and can't even walk to the bathroom, they'll understand better.

He stands up at the snap. The fact he was able to compete at all is telling of how talented he is. He should've been pancaked every snap.

If he can get low, he will make an impact. If he can lose some pure gut weight, he could really be a force.
