Recorded a 43 point 10 rebound game vs ATL.

And ESPN insider says his MVP hopes are fading.

If his piss-poor team doesn't make the playoffs, I doubt they give him the MVP if he were to AVERAGE 43 and 10. Nothing he can do about it but it's how it is.

yeah, it sucks for AD but it is what it is.

Pelicans need to tank and get Davis some real help - as in the form of Simmons, Murray, or Skal.

The first step is dumping Gordon next summer by letting him walk (his contract is up).

The next step is doing the exact same thing the following summer when Evans and Holiday are free agents. If they resign any of those guys for less than $8 million/season, they're officially the worst-run franchise in the league.

The desperately need an elite guard. I don't know what it might take for them to get Lillard from Portland, but it might be worth looking into.

Apparently they have injuries, but in the west...this start may doom them. He was not shooting very well before last night so great to see him shoot it well, and have a dominant game.

Had to check out his stats from the game last night and read about that particular game as well some after seeing how Davis performance was.

He's a truly loveable player, astounding game he brings every time he's on the court. Hopefully the team can improve and we can see him when the NBA playoffs roll around, but I'll be content seeing him in the regular season. I just wanna see him get the opportunity to show his greatness in the playoffs when the pressure is on and the blood is pumping.

Love it when the best play their best on the biggest stage. Praying for AD that he gets those opportunities many times in his career.

The team sucks, and part of that is because he hasn't been playing as well this year. It's still early.

Davis should have went to free agency and landed in Chicago. Going home would have been legendary in the city and he would have gotten more help and TV coverage.

Honestly though his mvp hopes might fade due to his team being absolutely trash.

Tell me the next time you turn down 120 million dollars.

ESPN article is stupid, because he never really had chance anyways since his team sucks. It has nothing to do with his performance. They never give MVP to a player who doesn't make playoff, maybe there have been some in the past but when Curry is blowing up, i doubt it. (also, it's way to EFFING EARLY to make that call)

Second thing is, the OP that started didn't say anything other than Davis hasn't looked like himself. In term of his capability, that was true. This performance is MORE reflective of his capability. This is what we were expecting out of Davis every few games, but instead it was 0-4. Even tho they lost, Davis almost single handedly carried a team to victory. He just need to focus on developing his game and ignore the win/loss column. Hopefully Murray hits up Pelicans, that would be dynamic duo for sure.
