Dame Sarr, Haron Zrno, Ian Jackson, Andrej Stojakovic, Treysen Eaglestaff, PJ Haggerty & lots of other 2G's left. Which one would you choose?

Either one of these would be the final missing piece for a strong run at our 9th national championship. We would be 2 deep at every position. Add one of these & our roster would be far, far more talented than our team this past season & our season that just ended we were good enough to have made the Final Four if we were healthy. Sign one of these shooting guards & lets start the season tomorrow.

Haggerty held out until the market became more scarce so his price could potentially go higher.

I realize that he is a 2nd-team All-American and all, but we're not going to give Haggerty what he wants just to take minutes away from our investments in Jasper Johnson and Collin Chandler. It's just not realistic.

Of those names, my guess is that Zrno or Eaglestaff are the best fit for the current roster.

I’m going to say which player fits the best in this offense and the player that gives off the best vibes is the guy we go hard after. Haggerty is a stud but will ask for more than OO is getting so that most likely won’t happen. Pope will surprise us I’m sure about that one.

Darrion Williams (my favorite), not a true SG, same as Jamir Watkins) but shoots it very well and a 3 level scorer.
Jamir Watkins - FSU - More of a SF
Chad Baker-Mazara
Kennard Davis - S. Illinois - big 6-5, 225 pound 2G. Averaged 16/5/3 last year.

Sleepers :
Melvin Counsil - St. Bonaventure
Barrington Hargress - UC Riverside
Blake Harpec - Freshman - Howard

1. Sarr

2. Jackson.

3. Harun Zrno

4. Eaglestaff

5. Haggerty

5. Griffin

6. Braydon Hawthorne

7 Peja ‘ son…

Would like any that will choose UK. But my preference is
1. Sarr
2. Sarr
3. Haggerty
4. Stojakovic
5. Zrno
Then any of the rest.

Take Sarr but after that they are all tied.

If we landed Darrion Williams we will win the title next year provided Oweh returns too.

For me Ian Jackson is the best fit. He can play the 2 or fill in some at pg. and what happened to the coward guy from wsu? Did he committ somewhere

Whoever can play the point if needed, and can hit 3s.. we need some backup at the point because if Lowe gets injured, we're going to be in the same spot last year. Unless Jasper Johnson can do it, but thats very Iffy to me.

Ian Jackson. He has lottery-level upside, can hit the three, and can even play point-forward if needed.

In the outside chance that Lowe goes down with a significant injury, Pope could use Jackson, Chandler, Johnson, and Williams to bring the ball down by committee.

The offense is not predicated on having a ball-dominant point guard anyway.

Curious what you think of Griffen? He seems the most likely at the moment.

I'm good with that! Sounds like that's the last piece to me.

Take your pick, but Pope needs to land one of them, and STAT! If not, I vote for Collin Chandler, backed up by JJ and Williams/ Perry.
If he landed one quickly just to fill the spot, he wouldn't have that spot available for the current portal players who I think are better than the ones a couple of weeks ago. I am very pleased that Pope isn't allowing emotions to influence his decision making like some of the fans.

I want the one that:
1). Wants to play at UK
2) is a team guy that wants to fill a role and win
3) Will not cause drama or chemistry issues
4) Isn’t all about money or making Pope go back and renegotiate everyone else due to the last spot being too damn greedy. Making money is something we all have to accept but overpaying could cause major trickle down negative effects on the rest of your roster.

Thats why I dont understand why everyone says pay him this or pay him that. If Pope were to pay the last guy 3 or 4 million even if he has it what do you think that would do to team chemistry when everyone else finds out this guy is making double or triple them? Part of putting the team together is managing money AND egos. Pope has done a tremendous job thus far doing both.

You live in a dream world man.

You live in a dream world man.
In what regard? You don’t think Pope values the things I listed? Lets’s pay everyone basically max contracts? Even if you manage based on tiers our fan base would have him buying teams with a budget somewhere in the 20-30 million range. It’s just not sustainable. He can’t just open the check book and pay every name 3-4 million without regard of what that impact could have elsewhere. I think managing the NIL for your roster is one of the key areas a coach has to navigate in this new age. It has a major impact on team chemistry and I think to this point Pope has navigated this area perfectly.

Without knowing anything, I take Griffin or Watkins as I think they might fit into the team better and not have an outlandish price tag.

From that crowd I prefer Harun Zrno by a long, long way.

What's the sense is designing an offense geared to get lethal shooters open as well as make everyone else more dangerous when we have a lethal shooter on the floor, and then getting ADHD and deciding we have other priorities when it comes to signing our one lethal shooter?

Zrno can do a bunch of other things well too and has great size.

It’s hard to know much about the foreign players, but for the guys who have already played college basketball I think Stojakovic is a pretty intriguing player. He had a huge jump from his freshman to sophomore year. It wasn’t really in the shooting percentages but he was a lot more aggressive and got to the line a ton. Those are attributes I’ve been very happy to see in a number of players Pope has gone after this offseason. The ability to exploit the space created by three point shooting and turn it into ever higher efficiency from 2 is probably the least appreciated aspect of running a high octane offense.
