Just watched 30 for 30: Last Days of Knight about the fall of Bobby Knight at Indiana. Informative documentary. Love 30 for 30 series. Probably a little too one-sided from a neutral perspective. I actually began admiring Coach Knight quite a bit during his time at Texas Tech. Ha ha, probably because he wasn't coaching against UK.

Thanks a lot. Was actually feeling younger than my years today for a change.

This makes me think about when Van Halen broke up, which makes me think about the line about the tshirt from the Wedding Singer, which makes me think about Adam Sandler, which at least makes me think of Waterboy and that hit on the college professor.

Now I'm feeling tired and old again, because that's too much thinking before sleep and too early to be this tired.

Gonna wake up tomorrow to Ain't Talkin Bout Love

Got an email today from WalMart inviting me to give them a proposal to supply them with goods. I'm going to pass though. A few years ago we made some goods for a third party who sold to WM. WM sent an inspector to look at our shop before they'd take the goods. That got us on their supplier list. Reason #1 to turn down: I had a very bad experience with a set of tires I bought from Sam's Club. A tire came off while we were doing 60mph and WM was a butt about it. Reason #2, I'm just old enough I don't want to fool with it. #3 I don't have enough employees to do it anymore.

Know a sales guy that sold WM over 4M worth of product for the company employing him. Took him 2 years to get in the door, 2 years to make the deal, and never got paid his commission because the company owner was a douche, and it killed the company afterwards anyway. They actually made the company CUT their prices in subsequent years to keep them selling their stuff, and they had trouble keeping up with WMs demand AND their existing mom and pop base. Had to go to cheaper ingredients and lost their loyal customers. Wound up being bought up at BK by a competitor that knew better than to put all of their eggs in the WM basket.

Unless you get your goods from China or the like, it's a good way to lose your shirt.

If there's ever a "vintage" grape jelly packet shortage, I found a stash from early 2000s when I was going through some stuff in storage... people like those vintage vintages. Has to be worth as much someday as some of those hoity toity, dusty bottles of fermented grape juices, right?

Oh, and when paint can openers run short I'll be buying everyone bourbon.... as long as I don't need one at the time. Those critters are downright elusive when I walk through the door with a paint can and a brush

Don't know anything about them, but they might work for my sister. My better half always carries a 38 Bodyguard, but she's told me fifty times, "If anything happens, I'm handing it to you."
That is my situation with the Director......she doesn't feel comfortable packing........me....I don't give a crap.......I am beat up from working in construction most of my life........I hung signs for a while, farmed for a year but other than that I worked as a carpenter........I couldn't whip my way out of a wet paper bag........I am 6'-4" 215..........I might not look beat up but I am.........what I have.....I have earned......no one is taking anything of mine without resistance from me......I have to have some kind of help.......I don't really like to carry but........what are my options.........

That sounds to me like you are just like the people that helped found this country. It's to that point in this country as it is today. We have little to no hope of help from those tasked with doing so, as their hands are tied or corrupted in some places more than they are empowered. The reality is that we have to stand up for our families and our communities against those in the political sphere that refuse to do their constitutionally mandated jobs.

I'm right there with you, sir.

I don't know if this is the right spot so here it is......I just purchase two Byrna pepper guns......they shoot a pepper loaded projectile effectively up to 60 feet.....I got Crimson Traced lasers for each one......they are non leathal........you don't need any kind of license........anyone else heard about these......my wife works at a local hospital that has quite a few drug users as patients......they go to the parking lot to get their dope........they make the employees walk through the main parking lot to a parking lot on the next block........I mainly got the pepper gun for my wife........she has a .380 but doesn't carry it.....she said she would be more comfortable carrying this gun......

Good to have a weapon. I do not know about that one but a piece of advice. Give your wife a third or a quarter piece of a jagged old red brick to keep in her pocket or her hand while walking. Just a less than hand-sized piece will do. Use the imagination as to what raking someone's face with that ever so slightly will do to an attacker. It will instantly put that person in misery.

Take that from a slums of Detroit used to be hood.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 68°F, cloudy, windy with a chance for rain later this afternoon. Cold front coming in. Our high may reach 70°F. We'll take it.

Suitcase is packed. I pick up the rental car at 4 pm tomorrow afternoon. My goal is leave NLT 2:30 CST am on April 17.

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

A real shame they censored many of her songs. Fist City, You Ain't woman enough to take my man.... and several others. They need play as they are real good songs but the Censor Police do away with most of them now.
I hear those two songs pretty often on Willie’s Roadhouse channel on sirius satellite radio. i’ve been hooked on satellite radio ever since it came with a truck i bought about fifteen years ago. public radio is pretty much unbearable nowadays—mostly commercials.

Develop just one good right punch straight to the face and repeat as necessary or develop mind control:

I've heard about Byna pepper guns on the radio. They're wanting them to become an option for law enforcement. When they do, rest assure someone will start complaining, saying they're inhumane or something. Criminals are thought more of than law abiding citizens nowadays.

We have a current temperature iof 65° and sunny, winds are 11 MPH with 1% chance of rain. Our high will be 79°. Very pleasant with that Gulf breeze.

In state politics the Florida House denounced democratic socialism on Tuesday with a resolution calling it a threat to American democracy. The GOP holds a 79-36 majority. So in Florida Democrat Socialism is a threat. Now we already knew that but it is official. Maybe they will put it on license tags.

This ole boy from Yulee ain't worried about no Democrat Socialism. Trust all have a great day.

Who would have known that we had our Honey Baked Ham 11 days early?
But I guess all is good, no harm, 'cause we had a Honey Baked Turkey Breast as well for the same meal (Easter)

Use your best French accent while reading: Goude Mornink Legionnaires!

Ze temperatour ees in ze 40's and veel only geet oop to mid 50's today. dat ees all. Adieu.

Just changing things up a bit.
Good morning D-League.

Or bon matin, in Legionnaire.

No need to fake a french accent. I got to know some of the guys in the Legion Etrangere on the Rwanda-Zaire border in 1994, guarding an airfield at a town called Goma, and before that, in 93, in Sarajevo.

Only the officers were French. The enlisted guys were either Africans or, in Zaire, some Germans and Poles, and in Sarajevo a bunch of Irish guys who had been in the IRA and were on the run from the British.

Those guys were loose and funny, and clearly didn't GAF. A year or so later, a bunch of them were busted for smuggling stuff they could sell into Sarajevo and for smuggling people out, including young women who paid their way with sexual favors.

So, top a' the morning to ye, lads. Time fer a pint.

I am 6ft. 215 and about to turn 53. Wife and I both carry in our vehicles for a worst case scenario. I still have that mentality that one on one I will return any kind of physical engagement, but I am pretty sure I will use the gun before I am pulled out of the car by some pissed off gang.

In the old days you could take your ass whipping and go on to the house. Today it can legitimately be a life and death situation. I am too old to be laying on the road getting kicked in the head or taking multiple curb stomps. Sad we have to think that way, but IMO it becomes more possible every time riots and protests happen.

I don't eat candy anymore, but in my kid days I used to eat something that I think was called a tootsie roll pop, a round piece of candy with a "stick" handle to hold it with. Hold the ball of candy in your palm with the stick protruding through your fingers and you have a jabbing tool that works nicely in the eyes or throat. Of course that lets the bad guy get awful close, but a piece of candy is socially acceptable and innocent looking.

Oops! I meant to answer another poster, but this will do.

A friend in need...

That is actually a nice piece of brick. They make them more jagged....

Oh, My prayer is that you are never in a situation to have to use something to defend yourselves. May God keep you safe. God Bless you all...

Not everyone will be interested in this, so apologies in advance. But a couple might.

This is the obituary in the Montreal paper for my Canadian friend who I mentioned last week had died suddenly. I've known some guys who have been around, but the phrase "been there, done that" was coined for Matthew.

Just curious as to how many get those annoying robo calls, especially the car warranty and student debt ones? It does no good to block them, as they use different numbers all the time.

Has anyone ever gotten a call and when you look at caller ID....it's your own number? Happened to us.
My brother was telling me yesterday of a YouTube video (there's more than one) of a guy who keeps the scammers on the line by impersonating that he's an old lady...while they're hot to trot to get her/him to Target or CVS to buy gift cards to return to them money that they 'erroneously' put in her/his account.
While that's all going on....somehow he is able to get into their computer and deletes all their files...including the gift card data. Kind of long videos but funny.

Here's one I watched last night. Not sure if this one has where he hacks into the hackers or not....

That is a problem. They change numbers. What I do now is not answer unless a name pops up of someone I know. I save all of the numbers of friends, family and doctors office, etc that are important.

If I do not recognize the number I let it go to voicemail.. No warranty caller has ever left a message. The erectile disfunction girls don't either. So I escape both of these nuisances

It was really popular when I was a boy. We had several tables set up at school. I had one for our kids that fit over the pool table. Pool tables were very popular back then too.

It is a cool sunny day here, 47.8°F on its way to 60°.

Safe travels and call to give me a ETA when it can be determined.

Same here. If they're not in our address book in the cell phones or home phone they don't hear my voice after the ringing stops.

Bert, thanks, I'll leave Saturday morning and plan on making 4-5 stops during the trip. Hoping for a phone call around 2:30 pm CST on Saturday afternoon with a status.

I have gotten a call from my own number telling me my SS number had been stolen.

Monday I got a call from a local area code and it was a guy from India trying to give me extra SS benefits. I told him I don't get SS. He got pissed off and hung up. To piss them off I try to call back and it usually is just a busy signal. But someone answers the phone and says hi Bert I have not talked to you in a while.

Shocked, I asked who it was and he said it is Dean: don't you know who you just called? Dean was my first college roommate. They scrapped up his number. But anyway Dean and I caught up on our families.

We average five or six scam calls a day.
