Good morning from Kansas City.

Easy flight yesterday and by the time we got here my son had already arrived after his ten-hour drive up from Texas.

All is well with my daughter and her husband, their two kids and my son, so it was great catching up and seeing everyone together.

My daughter and son-in-law are heading to work soon, and the grandkids have school so my wife and son-in-law and I are going to hang out in the city, maybe visit a couple museums then have lunch around Union Station.

Hope you all have a good day.

Anybody remember Rafael Furcal? He played MLB for 14 years. He was the Cards SS when they won the 2011 WS. He was just arrested in Florida on 2 felonies, aggravated battery and throwing a missile into an occupied car. In Florida a missile can be anything capable of serious harm.
Sir,

I do remember him. Didn't he also play for the Braves. Liked his play. Geez why.....

I checked on a Cardinal forum. A poster is saying a Dominican reporter claims he talked to Furcal. He says Furcal got into it with a truck driver and the truck driver pulled a knife, and Furcal hit him with a rock. A prior post by another poster had said Furcal had a gun. Just posters talking though. Who knows?

In case anyone is interested, on Cardinal talk, there is a HOF poll on Pete Rose. Vote is 44-23 for putting him in. On normal official voting, it takes 75%.
Would he be voted on by the regular voters since he’s just now eligible or by the Veterans Committee? If Vets, is it same 75% requirement or something else? I have no idea.

Though a Reds and big Rose fan in his playing days, at this point don’t have strong feelings if he gets in or not.

Vet committee I think and I'm not sue how it works. Just posting a small cross section of fans opinion.

Good morning folks.

Still in KC…Went to see my granddaughter perform in an ice capades type show last night. Very enjoyable. Grandson is having a little ceremony graduating from pre-pre K this morning. Then we are going to some science museum they enjoy. Hectic lives of kids. My son is absorbing much on the crazy energy of the 4-year old grandson. Which is good. They really get along great.

Hope you all have a great day.

Back from my morning fishing trip. Went pretty well.

8 strikes, 8 hits, 3 errors.

Warrior-Cat 5 - Large Mouth Bass 3. Hoping that will be UK vs Vandy end score today.

2 of the Bass were around 4lbs each. The others a pound or better.

Congrats, wish I could have been with you. Heck, wish I could have been with you if you wasn't catching fish...

This week's pond was Bald which is in between 2 firing ranges. A zeroing weapons range and a force-on-force training range with soldiers attacking each other using blanks. Lot of firing going on while fishing. Last week was between a qualifying range and the grenade range (Rattler pond). Lots of booming and this:

Is there anybody down range, is there anybody down range!
The range is no longer clear.
Firers secure your weapons and take up a good, supported firing position, etc...

Ring a bell? I know @AustinTXCat and Bernie might remember.

I can hear all of this from those ponds.

Sir,

When I lived in Radcliff, Vine Grove, and E-Town I spent a lot of time on Fort Knox with my Jon boat in tow. (Actually in the back of my F-150) The 13' boat fit well with the tail gate down and strapped in. trolling motor in tow. I fished off the banks a lot at night but catching cats mostly. Just loved casting into the bank and getting the strikes from the bass you could normally see in the water. Took my youngest daughter a lot and she played up in the front of the boat wrapped in a blanket playing with her Barbies.

When I hooked one, I would tell her and she dropped her dolls and watched me play it or fight it until I landed it or it got off the hook.

I went out in the winter as well but fishing deep mostly. Fished many days with ice dangling off the line. When I wasn't killing bugs or with my family I was fishing. The kids were younger and hadn't got into High School yet and did a lot of church activities. I was only five or so miles from home at the worst so I could get home easily if needed.

Once I sold my business and went to work as a contractor I ended up selling that Jon boat but to this day wish I hadn't.

Was thinking about buying a boat again but I'd have to park it in the Occoquan river at some pier and just do not see that happening as I'd rarely get to use it but always have to pay. When we get a chance now we just fish and crab off the "bank" or pier.

Yes, I normally always heard fire from the ranges but the two lakes/ ponds I normally fished did not have much going on close though I used to find ordinance regularly and would always call the MP's to come collect it. They did too. (I was amazed at how many shells I found along with other items. Found a full string of 50 caliber shells a couple times in different places.

I will shut up...(typing)

I remember oh so well. Heh. Ran countless ranges during my career. Even detailed 6 months SD to Fort Hood range control.

Good morning folks. Wrapping up our brief visit to KC today, with a flight back to DC Reagan this afternoon. Always hard to end any family visit. But we packed a lot into a few days. And it means a lot to see my daughter, her family, and my son flourishing. My younger daughter flying home from Europe today, so everyone is getting back to real life.

Devastating news about the storms in Kentucky. Prayers for all those dealing with tragedy today.

I saw the cake picture and said: "Whoo and Whaa!" My wife says: What are you looking at over there. She was thinking some hot babe and came over to look. Her reply? "I should have known".

I have an enormous, sweet tooth.

Good morning everyone

Busy, busy time. The Alpha Gal stuff my wife contracted from a tick bite is really bigger than we first thought. She can't eat or even be around mammalian products. Saturday while at my sister's retirement party we found out she reacts to scents. The building used air fresheners and my wife noticed as soon as we entered. I didn't think it was that strong. Within 15 minutes she had to go outside. Apparently animal products are used in many scents. Ugh, even some water filtration systems use bone char from mammals that can cause reactions. It will take a good while to figure out what she reacts to and what she doesn't. Stressful and the research is time consuming.

Our place at Lake Cumberland was not damaged by the tornado Friday night according to a neighbor. We may get down there later this week.

Hope all is well with everyone. I've tried to check in every so often but not much going on in UK basketball world until it's time for Oweh to let his decision be known.

Good morning folks.

Back at work after a busy long weekend. Felt good to be able to spend time with my daughter and son. And my other daughter got back from her European tour and came over to say hello last night.

Hope we hear today that Oweh is returning, and we can start looking forward to the hoops season with a full house. Football, well, my hopes for that is that we're in the last year of the Stoops era, and maybe the last year of the Barney era.

Have a good day.

Played 3 games yesterday and we lost 2 of them. I only played one and we lost that one. Did not play well yesterday. In fact, the whole team did not either. Although I think I had the worst game of them all. I sucked.

We are still in 2nd out of 12 teams sitting at 7-2.
