Thanks for asking FCC. It's been one of those days. Woke up and almost cut my great toe off there was blood everywhere. Finally

Stopped the blood and got it bandaged. Went to see orthopedic doctor this afternoon. My right shoulder is good enough for him.

Got home lost my balance and fell hard on concrete! Man that hurt. Laid there for 35 minutes until Wanda got home, she went an grabbed

our neighbor they managed to get me up. Tomorrow will be a better day!..................:weary:.........
Be more gentle on yourself rrkat. :sunglasses:Ease up a bit.

The last time I fell I broke my femur. Don't do that. Fall on beds, and other soft places........ ;) not concrete.

It looks like we are going to bottom out at 40° F this morning in Smiths Grove. It got pretty nice yesterday afternoon and then we got a pretty good little shower at sundown. My grass is growing like crazy. I mowed it Tuesday and it will need it again in a day or so. Springtime in Kentucky.

You'all have a good day. Safe travels MDWildcat. My daughter and son-in-law make the trip to Eldersburg about 6 times a year by car and then fly a few times. Not a bad trip at all.

RRkat be careful and also be nice to the doctors so they will do a good job on you. ;-)

Went and checked on Railroadkat. He looks good considering what he's been through. He's a big boned guy. We first met when we were about 12 or 13. He played first base and I was shortstop. I had played bb in the county since I was 6 and decided to give city ball a try. I remember remarking to my mom on the way home from practice that there was a very big guy playing first. I told my mom that I thought I could shut my eyes and throw it to first and that big guy could catch it. Big target. Listen y'all, railroadkat is what we country folk would call good people.

Hope all is well with your souls. FCC./

Spent yesterday in Tucson, about 70 miles south of where I live. Nice town with lots to see and do. Bad town for traffic though. Ended up at a casino. My wife likes to play the slots. I don't play at all. She won $88. She allots $20 to play and quits if she loses it. I estimate she is ahead about $500 in the last few years she's done that.

I hate driving and have seen my driving skills decline in the last couple of years. I try to get my wife to drive but she hates driving too. She screams in terror a lot but won't drive. Yesterday I backed over a large rock in a parking lot (no damage) and she she finally said, "That's it, I'm driving from now on!" [banana]

It's nice of you to check on him. I hope he's doing well.

  • Good Morning, D-Leagueans & Oasiseanites.
  • 59º in Johns Creek. Windy. Coat on.
  • 2 mugs of Dark Magic drank.
  • RailroadCat, I hope your doctors get things figured out. Bummer. I am praying for you.
  • My hands are cold.
  • Wish I could stay home today, but I need to be there.
  • Clock is ticking. #3 leaves for Vicenza, Italy on June 10th.
  • Have a safe Thursday.
  • As you were.

Confession" I have never ridden on a train. I have put pennies and nails on rails and wondered if I was going to cause a train wreck.:
Oh my..... RRkat and I have driven them and ridden on them (I drove them during strikes; never was good at it). Also I used to go from Baltimore to New York on the electric section of AmTrac and it is fast sort of like 140 mph.

On a train I always feel that I am safe. Even in the event of a crash the odds of being hurt are a lot less than in most means of transport.

While I was not a fan of railroads as a kid or young adult; I am now.

I totally believe that.

I have had conversations with you, Don, BKO, Ymmot et.al. and they are all great people.

the D-League........................

What else would we expect from Don?

I’m on a roll. Saw another bald eagle at the Bluegrass Army Depot in Madison Co. Lots of turkeys too, but another eagle! Wahoo!

On to Lexington, I’m afraid. More people, less critters.
One of my best friends lives in Madison County. Dr. William Harrison Mitchell. He is going to be 75 this year but he still works for UK medical school. Good guy, great county. Plus he married well.

We had our annual AC service/maintenance this morning. It's kind of weird, if not uncomfortable, to have the AC running when it's only 40 degrees outside. Good news though. Our AC is working just fine.

The deadline for the draft is getting close. Not trying to jinx anything but it sounds good for Quade. JV, PJ and WG come on back for a memorable season!

AC is a touchy subject in our house. When I awake in the mornings at 4:30 am CST, 63°F is unreasonable if outside temps are near or below. Wife demands such cool air.

<------ hate effing AC.

Saw a couple bald eagles while fishing in Alabama a few weeks ago.

They are making a comeback here in E.Ky.
Beautiful creatures.

Smiths Grove has 35° F and a light frost on April 20th. Sun is shining bright and I missed getting my garbage out. Dang.

I love bald eagles. We lived on a lake our late rotation to Florida and it was fished by bald eagles and a bunch of ospreys. For the eneducated the ospreys are far better fishers than the bald eagles. The bald eagles know this and often opt to just steal the fish from the ospreys. They were always in aerial combat.
