Could Poythress comeback??

Those 8 games he averaged 5 points and 3 rebounds?

He was great defensively, but his lack of ball handling and offensive creation is still lacking.

I can see a rim protector being a "beast" AD, Noel, etc.

But I wouldnt necessarily refer to a wing defender as a "beast" because of his one on one defense alone.

The potential is there to do so much more, and I really hope he does. As of now, Alex takes me back to Master Blaster.
I can understand your frustration with "stats" but Alex WAS a beast on D. We are looking at another championship if he's guarding the ball vs. Wisky. When guys dread you checking them then that qualifies imo.

He most certainly did not. Well discussed last season.

Poythress played 8 games out of 39 winch is 20.5% of the games. The NCAA limit for medical hardship is 30%.

Also has to happen in first half of season and prevent student from competing remainder of season.

Therefore Poythress is eligible to apply for 5th year if he chooses.

Does he have to apply for it during that season or can he still apply for it, say at the end of this year or before next season?

Just curious. I have no idea.

If my memory serves me I believe that he would apply after the season is complete.

I don't know but I doubt he would return anyways. Alex is just a curious case if you ask me. He's what 6'9 240? and a freak of nature athletically. I mean he should be a pure beast. He should be a bully on the court. If he just had that killer mentality and played with emotion and was aggressive the kid would average a double-double and get drafted in the lottery. Honestly. He should be a Julius Randle type player. He's that talented. I want to see him try to dunk the ball every time he gets close to the rim and be the toughest roughest, most aggressive player on the floor.

Hard to debate that argument.

I guess my issue is after seeing him in person at the Duke game, THAT was the beast Alex can be.

Havent really seen it since.
