In fairness Oregon brought in a sec coach and Texas brought in a sec coach. They both know how to build teams, have been there a season, and play in an era where rosters can be altered substantially in short periods of time. Acting like it’s some Texas roster and coach from other seasons 5 years ago walking in and winning is agenda driven. In fact, Oklahoma won the big 12 more than anyone in the last 15 years and they struggled mightily this season. The roster wasn’t up to sec snuff and they continued to try to play big 12 style ball.
I don't think anyone was throwing shade at Oregon or Texas before they joined their new conferences. They spend a ton on NIL and are gonna do well due to that.

Hope not , ACC football is inferior . They really don’t deserve one bid . SEC and BIG must have four each or they will justifiably just break up the playoff system .
College football has the dumbest postseason. Always have and always will. Regular season now means nothing in the sport that parroted that the regular season matters. It’s all about bias. The human element has benefitted Bama more than anyone.
Only with Bama can you get the shit kicked out of you by a 6-6 Oklahoma team two weeks ago, lose to Vanderbilt and lose to Tennessee and get into a playoff cause of your brand name. Tied for fourth place in their own conference and gets to be in a playoff. 🤦♂️
I watched many games every week and never got the impression that games were irrelevant. You could expand to 32 teams and still hear loud whining from #33-40.
I won't argue the Big and SEC need to get 4 in, but why must that be Bama? UGA lost to a top 5 team and drops 6 spots, Bama gets blown out by a 6-6 team and drops 4. Just enough to keep them in the playoffs. Meanwhile, SCarolina beats a top 20 team and climbs 2 spots, just enough to keep them behind Bama. Bama just gets too many mulligans, force them to play with same rules and penalties everyone else does.
Bama and USCjr have the same record. But they played a game. And Alabama won it. The position as it pertains to those two teams was decided on the field.
Clemson beating SMU and getting a lower seeding kind of throws that out the window, same with OSU and PSU. I don't really know what the committee valued, seemed like it was consistently wins and losses and head to head was secondary.. Bama had 2 bad losses, beat Vandy or not get blown out by OU and they were in. They have gotten the benefit too many times already.
