Finally we have decided to play defense like everyone else. The complete stoppage of the back up, rush 3 prevent died at Southern Miss.
in the first half SM converted two long 3rd downs when we backed up into prevent. I have not seen us do that since. It was our 3rd n long staple for 3 years.
During Clemson last drive we backed up, rushed 3 and allowed soft yardage for them to win. Not today. We stayed aggressive. Brought pressure. Got up tight on the guys outside. Same thing at Georgia. No passive defense at all.
I’m not talking about how the players played. They were asked to do something different. bring the heat by the coaches. Complete scheme shift from the last 3 years.
Old Jim. This is all we have been asking for for 3 years. Here is to hoping CMS has decided to stay aggressive and attack. We got burnt on 2 blitz today.
We also got up and caught our punts.
The advantages outweigh those plays. LFG.
