Coach Cal has always shown an incredible ability to not only land the best recruits, but to time their announcements. Not only have these timings been to gain momentum for UK, but also counter momentum from other schools. With a Duke matchup in the wings and the latest news on Bam, I have to think this is Cal striking again. No sources on this one, just appears to be in our favor based on all the variables. We are SO fortunate to have Coach Cal at the helm of our program...enjoy the ride!!!

Glad someone posted this because it's 100% dead on. The fact that there are people still thinking he's going to NC State is laughable.
The show schedule for Mike and Mike on the ESPN website shows Cal is on at 9:30. No mention on the schedule of Bam, but it's been noted that he is announcing at the same time. Makes you wonder how long this may have been in the works.
No reason to doubt Cal. Many will say he should have 2 or 3 more titles; well it doesn't work that way.
He continues to set the standard, not K, who of course adapted to this philosophy to stay relevant.
I expect us to pick up Bam today and apply the focus on Monk to join this group.

This Class would be even more impressive. While that class didnt exactly pan out, the twins were a package while Monk and Fox were not.
Fox > A Harrison
Monk > Aa Harrison
Gabriel >/= Young
Bam</= Randle
SKJ > Dakari/Lee

That plus Humphries, Wynard, Matthews, Mulder, Hawkins, an upgraded Willis hopefully and possibly Lee (stretch) ...wow.
This is why many believe it will be Bam to UK. With Calipari being scheduled and Bam saying he will announce at the same time on Mike and Mike, it seems 2+2=Bam to UK.
With cal being on mike and mike directly after the announcement, it's good enough for proof IMO. But I think they set it up.

Timing & Marketing. Most of Cal's recruits making their announcements have always been in this fashion. UK gameday where a national audience will be tuning in. Cal is speaking to a targeted audience. Future recruits.
I fell that Monk will be a Cat. This will be the greatest class that Cal has put together.
He is a genius. First time EVER for a recruit to announce live on Mike and Mike, one of the most watched and listened to shows in sports media. Who else out there won't want to be able to do THAT?

Don't overlook the fact that Cal was on live immediately afterwards. How many times can you remember having a player commit and his future coach is on immediately afterwards?
Cal should take that 10 minutes he was on this am, and put that on his iPad for every single visit he makes...that was vintage Cal and Bam leads into the 10 minutes promoting the BBN and Cal. Very few coaches, football or basketball, could pull this off.
We got a great recrut the day after Louiville won the title. I always thought it was too steal some headlines from Louisville.
