They'll be a sick seed host for sure. :pimp:

Yet according to UL and/or their fans...
1. They have NBA talent throughout the roster.
2. This is the most talented team Rick has ever coached.

Of course, we all know this is a crock. The truth is, if a couple grad transfers from Drexel and Cleveland St can come in and be your two best players from day one, you've got serious roster issues. This is Rick's new one and done model.

NIT sounds about right. Probably just as much chance to miss the NIT as to make the NCAA. They are in that 7th-11th range in the ACC this year. Way behind UNC, UVA & Duke. And also behind Miami, FSU, ND. UL is in that 3rd tier with NC St, Syracuse, Pitt, & WF. My best guess would put them 10th.

UL is not even worth discussing on this board at this point!

I'll let a few games go by before agreeing here.

Pitino has a way of getting his team to believe, and in truth, how hard is it to be in the tourney? You have to be better than average and if they have a +2 in wins in the ACC, they're a NCAA team.

This. Their OOC is laughable so they should come into ACC play with an inflated record. Get to even .500 in ACC play IMO and that will be enough.

It is going to be so fun to watch them get blown out in conference play. I hope UofL makes Rick suffer through this season. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

that ooc could be the dagger too if they lose one or two cupcake games before acc play, and then get to .500. after their two exhibitions i'm not so sure they'll run the table on their ooc cupcakes.

That's a good point. They can't afford losses OOC to anyone not named Kentucky or Michigan State.

Even more reason to hate that OOC if you're a Louisville fan. No one cares if you run the table against Samford, Hartford, North Florida, Kennesaw State, etc. but if you drop one of those games, you could be in trouble.

I think the come to Rupp with more than the one loss to MSU. They look like the keystone cops out there.

I love to take jabs at Pitino and UL. But, I 'kinda agree. As much as Pitino's off-court issues make for an excellent Jerry Springer episode, he does have a knack for getting the most out of what he has. Thus, unless someone on their roster ends up being under the radar like Tom Hanks for Alabama in Forrest Gump - they will struggle.

Of course, we will be the overwhelming favored team. But, history indicates that the rival games between the two programs usually doesn't include many blowouts. Pitino will "muck" the game by fouling to slow it down to keep UL from getting blown out.

They will drop a couple of OOC games they aren't supposed to lose. They will lose to MSU. Before they play us, they will self impose a post season ban and blame the blow out loss on lack of motivation. "How can you expect those guys to compete, with the misdeeds of others held above their heads?"

What if their team was this years our team? Just for the sake of conjecture, pretend that Cal had recruited all year and he came up with ul's team. Does anyone believe for a second that we would all be on here talking about how good they are? We would be pissed. Since Cal has had a pretty good record in the recent past, he's not on the hot seat, but if he doesn't make a serious upgrade next year, faaaaarrrCaaallll!

I'd be thinking Kentucky would be back in the days of Tubby Smith's last couple years or the short Billy Gillispie era.

The cheats up the road and the kings of cheat at UNC shouldnt even be allowed to play in the NIT.
