I am a huge UK fan. Grew up in Lexington. Attended undergrad at Centre but went to law school at UK. Moved away after but still very passionate about UK sports. I just call out ignorance when I see it, and for some reason that offends the shit out of some. Logically, those most likely to be offended would be the idiots. Every player is different. I think in UK’s case, losing KP hurt. Cal would yell and go crazy, then KP would come over and be the good guy to explain what Cal was trying to say. I think we now have a staff that can pick that back up, I don’t think we had that the last three years. So it was basically just Cal yelling and a bunch of clueless assistants not helping.

My coach yelled at us in high school it didn’t bother me, but when he cussed us it wasn’t cool, I get having expectations but there is a point where you go over the line. My generation has some soft ones for sure but they also have ones who are fighting for their worth and be belittled

For sure, there are levels to everything. The get players not wanting to be cussed at, it’s unnecessary and doesn’t help anything at all. The staff issues are good points, he had alot of guys who wouldn’t check him on issues, now he has guys who will speak up

I grew up playing hockey, so I became accustomed to someone yelling and cursing every other word. It can work, but you need a calming force on the other side of it, too. Either from a player with leadership or an assistant. If it’s just yelling and cursing, then yeah I agree it isn’t going be very effective long term.

So again, you don't see any correlation between Tucker's article (which mentioned Cal was getting frustrated with criticism btw) and this mention by Frank Martin? You see absolutely no correlation there at all? Or is Tucker pushing an agenda too? I don't believe in coincidences. I also don't believe in conspiracies. However, this coupled with Cal's demeanor over the past couple of seasons (Little House comments, "go home and pet my dogs" after a loss to freaking Vandy), it's somewhat obvious that Cal was not doing a great job of PR with fans, nor doing a great job of finishing out seasons.

In Cal's own words, we have not been Kentucky good lately. I think this is part of the reason why. Cal has been too whiny and griping too much (the football/basketball school thing, the facilities complaining, the mysterious vague player issues, Sharpe, etc.)

The only agenda I have is seeing UK be the best basketball team in college basketball again. Which is what every true UK fan should want. Whether that's with Cal or with out Cal makes absolutely no difference to me.

Well even further.. what constitutes as whining and complaining here? It's one thing to vent about the teams struggles, guys not being reliable, the Sharpe situation.. that's not whining to me. Now, if he was complaining about unlucky matchups or shots not going in, that's a little different.

It seems people now just assume Cal threw a child-like tantrum to Frank Martin, when we have no idea what he even said.
