Yeah, he said he was going to pass UCLA in championships also...but we all see how that turned out. If he tells you that counting his $$$ is more important than coaching...you can take that to the bank.
It was more the vague comment for me. "Ramping up period" like, what? Just say, hey, he's a little sore tonight and we're going to keep him out. Boom, done. No speculation.
And normally, that wouldn't be that bad. But......it's Cal. He's not exactly known for being forthcoming nor a great communicator.
I get it, just feel like he has been pretty forthcoming about things this year. It is just that he's said stuff people don't want to hear, i.e. timeline for return. People still snake bit from sharpe and drawing comparisons and conclusions when they aren't same scenarios.
Either way, again...I don't really care either way. Just want to win.
He's been better. But I've had my heart stomped on before. Can't count how many times I would drive home listening to the call in show just saying "Fix it Cal. JUST. FIX IT."
Prime Cal is the best coach for UK. But as I've said before, we haven't seen him round these parts since flashes in 2018.

I know it didn't matter much in the long run as we got much better, but.....Evansville. Which in the grand scheme of things was a blip, but that was the first season of UK ball without my mom, and man that was a gut punch.

Or do you know better than the executives who awarded Barnhart? Only four people have served as members of the Football Playoff Committee and as Chair of the Men's Basketball Tournament Commmittee. Barnhart is one of those four. Five of Barnhart's former associate ADs are now ADs at other P5 schools. Mark Stoops has more wins than any other football coach in Kentucky history. I go into each year with a clean slate. If things get bad, I’ll whine too. But preseason, preemptive complaining is on a new level.

Cal told us Z would play and then didn't play him. What's preemptive about that? Looks reactionary to me. But you go ahead with the spin.
People with common sense can see bad things coming when the guy who's been overseeing the decline of our program continues to do the same stupid stuff he did before.
