This doesn’t sound like somebody who is playing tomorrow
I say they let him go through pre game and if he can manage it they let him play
It's pretty simple, really... he hurt his ankle. He's apparently close, but not 100%.Anybody wonder what's really going on with Butler? Might just be PTSD from years past but how bad is he?
It's a hurt ankle. But if he doesn't go tomorrow, I'm going to wonder if it's worse than originally thought.Anybody wonder what's really going on with Butler? Might just be PTSD from years past but how bad is he?
Why? Its been like 10 days since the Clemson game, when he hurt it.It's a hurt ankle. But if he doesn't go tomorrow, I'm going to wonder if it's worse than originally thought.
Ankles are weird things. You can twist one and never feel it. Or you can barely roll one and have it swell up like a freaking grapefruit (and hurt like hell).
Louisville is down 3 guys and the game is in Rupp, there shouldn't be any sacrificing of games.Sadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture. If this was on the road I’d say rest him as a road loss is not bad for seeding. We don’t want to lose a home game to unranked team.
I’m not sure we will beat them without Butler. Unless we show more toughness than we have recently. No careless passes. No bad shots. And moving on offense. Also throw in some zone to stop penetration
Human ancestors evolved bipedalism, but unfortunately, ankle and knee durability hasn't quite kept up with that particular revelation. It's a hurt ankle. But if he doesn't go tomorrow, I'm going to wonder if it's worse than originally thought.

Having watched the interview video, I don't see a wink or any indication that there's anything more to Pope's "we'll see" comment.
For your second paragraph you mean they need to play like they did in the game less than a week ago against Gonzaga?Sadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture. If this was on the road I’d say rest him as a road loss is not bad for seeding. We don’t want to lose a home game to unranked team.

Ankles especially. And some of us have stronger ankles than others.Human ancestors evolved bipedalism, but unfortunately, ankle and knee durability hasn't quite kept up with that particular revelation.
Down 3 players is kind of deceiving. One was sitting out before the season started. One barely even saw the floor. Pryor is the only loss from the team that’s been playing.Louisville is down 3 guys and the game is in Rupp, there shouldn't be any sacrificing of games.
Might have to. That PG for Louisville is pretty damn tough. Gets anywhere he wants on the court. Really need Butler IMO. That or change up defenses, like you said.Sadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture. If this was on the road I’d say rest him as a road loss is not bad for seeding. When we play man to man, Oweh will guard him and is up for the task. I just hope it doesn’t come to that.Might have to. That PG for Louisville is pretty damn tough. Gets anywhere he wants on the court. Really need Butler IMO. That or change up defenses, like you said.
Yeah from the presser and Pope's vibes I didn't get the sense that Butler will play. Sure hope I'm wrong on that.Having watched the interview video, I don't see a wink or any indication that there's anything more to Pope's "we'll see" comment.
I've partially torn ligament(s) in my knee and walked fine. I twisted my ankle in the woods a few years back and thought I was going to die.Ankles especially. And some of us have stronger ankles than others.
I think if he doesn't go tomorrow it's more about getting him a another full week of healing. It's a hurt ankle. But if he doesn't go tomorrow, I'm going to wonder if it's worse than originally thought.

We beat Gonzaga on the road without him lolSadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture. If this was on the road I’d say rest him as a road loss is not bad for seeding. We don’t want to lose a home game to unranked team.

I'm just glad we no longer have a coach who was constantly letting guys sacrifice games for THEIR bigger picture.Sadly we may need to sacrifice this game for the bigger picture.
