Calipari isn't going to be fired. As much as I would love to see that happen, it just won't.
What does need to happen though is he needs to retire. Especially if this team fails to make the NCAA tournament. Which, is a very real possibility.
That would be best for everyone involved. I know there are those who will say "Why would he walk away with millions left on his contract?". Listen, Calipari is set for life already. The extra money won't change his lifestyle in any way. But, if things continue on the path they are on, he could very well find doors being slammed in his face in Kentucky. That would be a huge shot to his ego.
By his own admission the shelf life for a coach at UK is about 10 years. He's exceeded that number and it really shows. I'm telling you guys, the best decision he could make would be retirement.
