Sad to see the guy hurt, but he looked like a deer in the headlights. Made little brother look like they were the NFL champs. I don't think he is the long term solution for our program. Need to get into the portal asap.

Yeah, because that has worked for us so well

Maybe we can get another team’s scrubs that couldn’t get on the field?

My concern is the easy thing to say is he’s a freshman. And he is and some of that can subside. But in hs his issue against a decent hs team was he was going to throw picks.
The team around him today wasn’t good but there is also a reality that he has his own propensities that he will have to change to be effective at the level needed. It may get improved but having seen him a number of times in hs there are things he has a history of so I’m not sold it’s bankable to improve enough.

Portal QB's disrupt the locker room and we have been as bad as bad could be with portal QB evaluation If portal QB can't see the field then he is coming only to get playing time. Got to recruit a dual threat kid and develop him. That is the ONLY way we will ever compete. It is not rocket science. Stoops has not learned a damn thing from his poor portal additions. He either does not care or can't understand making the same decisions yet continues to think he will get different results.

I’m not going to judge Cutter on this game. Tough spot to start your first game. Youngster. Nervous. Been running third team most of the year.

Give him some time. He’ll learn and get motivated by today. Like a 6 5 gun slinger. Maybe Tim Couch can help him grow. He went along the same path.

He still has 4 years eligibility as he only played 4 games thus keeping his redshirt. In fairness to him, he did not have much of a chance today as his protection was horrible. He does have the tools. Let’s hope he can be surrounded by players that can allow him to show those tools.

He looked great in the second half against Texas. No pressure to win that game and he had no time think about it This was a rivalry game that started well and turned completely on that fumble after the long run. He is not as bad as he looked against Louisville nor as good as he looked against Texas at this time, but he has promise and should be given time to grow. After the Texas game some were saying he should have been the starter all year, and now some are saying he has no chance to be the starter next year. Both are wrong.

3 of our 4 years in the portal area have been pretty good. This was the first year that was a bust.

Will was a really good QB for us.
Leary had the most TD’s in a season since Woodson

Both were good enough to be drafted.

Our biggest issue is Stoops coached teams can’t develop a HS QB to save their life, so the portal is our only option.

Same can be said for Brock! He had no protection . I didn't realize that Hamden gets 3 mil a year! Barnhart needs to be removed ASAP! I repeat Barnhart needs to be relieved of his duties ASAP! You can not give contracts out on unproven assistance like that! It's insanity! The athletic department needs to get there act together. I say you start by firing Barnhart, next year stoops and his staff if they don't turn this around!

Hamden might be the lowest level OC that stoops has hired in his 12 years! The problem is I dont think any decent OC would even consider coaching under stoops. It would kill his career.

Where did you see $3M/yr? Contract is for $1.25M/yr.

I'm ambivalent about White. On the one hand, for several years that he's been here, our defense has been solid statistically and has kept us in a lot of games.

But, other than the Josh Allen year, we've not been able to consistently rush the passer throughout his tenure. Several years we've seen us near the bottom of 3rd down efficiency. At least a couple of games every year, our defense flat out sucks and can't seem to stop anyone. Not nearly as much this year, but there have been years where we inexplicably leave WRs wide ass open for easy TDs way more often than should ever happen. Running QBs still give us a ton of trouble.

As far as OC goes, I never figured out what Hamdan was attempting to do this year. Just no logical thread from play to play that I could discern. IMO, I think we'd have a better chance long term if we recruited dual threat QBs, inside zone OL and outstanding route running WRs/TEs. Combine a straight ahead RPO/option running game with a short/West Coast passing attack and I think we have a system that can work in today's game and we can successfully recruit to. Outside zone concepts have not worked for us on the field or in recruiting. McVay passing concepts, while sound, haven't worked that well for us as we are not, generally, going to get that NFL prospect QB at UK (Levis being the exception) and it seemed to me that we required way too much thinking on the QB and WRs on every play to rely on such a complicated scheme. Every Sunday, I see NFL QBs throwing short way more than pushing the ball down the field like we've tried to do (as we did yesterday to our detriment, imo). I think the Eagles system or something akin to it would work well with our talent level and we'd go back to being the physical, drive it down your throat offense that we had a lot of success with previously. Mix in short, controlled passing attack to keep the D honest and I think you have a system that Stoops would be comfortable with and would be successful.

Needs an offensive line
With the offensive line we've had around here these past few years. You could put a 25 year old Tom Brady at quarterback with Bo Jackson as the tailback & have Jerry Rice & Randy Moss as your wide receivers & until this O-Line gets fixed even these guys couldn't score enough to beat a decent team.

He has some tools which is why he was rated highly early. He has some decision making problems and bad habits that lead to to’s which is why his rating dropped some his sr year.

My biggest questioning of him came from seeing him playing small class ky hs and a better team even at that level would choose to make him try to beat them over their rb that was going to eku. His team wasn’t under talented for that level of football. And he largely just threw picks in games where he had to be the guy to win it. And that’s just against small class ky teams. The hope has to be that some of the tools can win out over time if decision making can improve.
