Surprise, surprise. Vince Marrow’s name comes up yet again. I might get blasted for this stance, but if he goes, it’s a “Well… see ya!” from me. He’s as much part of this death spiral as anyone, being our alleged lead recruiter. They complain about our roster and the culture that’s been created. Who would have the biggest hand in that but the lead recruiter? Also seems to love getting attention more than an Only Fans model, but we’ve known that for quite a while.

Word in Chapel Hill is he is coming. Marrow is supposedly not happy with NIL and the recruits leaving after 1 year.

Personally, this is a salary stunt and him getting more $$$ from UK

If this athletic department gives a single person on this staff an extra dime… 🤦‍♂️.

I certainly hope that potential negotiation goes like Calipari’s did after his stunt.

I would be shocked if Belichick gave him a better contract and more money than what he is getting from UK. But there is NO WAY Mitch should even consider giving him more to stay here after how far we have fallen.

If he leaves, so be it.But it would be very telling if he does take off. It would be the first BIG SIGN that Stoops is on his last legs.

But, even if we want him gone after next season, will Mitch pay the $35 million???? That is still a huge amount of money to get rid of him.

Mitch should not give him a contract raise.

I’m fine with him leaving because it will hopefully bring a quicker end to the Stoops relationship

It also proves the people talking about Marrow not actually being a good recruiter or whatever are just talking BS because they are mad about the rest of the situation

Smells fishy to me. UNC are going to match or exceed his $1.3 million/year? They have that big of an assistant pay pool? To spend in a recruiter and position coach for a head coach whose buyout drops to $1 million next June?? Meanwhile Stoops gets an auto extension every 7 wins.

I think his recruiting has slipped as he’s aged. His portal work is helped by NIL than his personality. They don’t need him for nfl liaison work with who they have on staff.

UNC assistant pay pool is $10MM now. Another $6.3MM for front office and S&C.

This jibes with so many of the players entering the portal, and could result in our recruiting class coming apart as well, if true. He's earned it. He's done a great job improving the poor recruiting UK has had in the past, and would have a lot better publicity for it in Chapel Hill. ESPN and the NCAA love UNC. No doubt the fans there would actually support the staff, and they're in an easier conference to win games.

Best of fortunes to him

I don’t know if his recruiting has slipped as he’s aged as much as he’s newly married and probably not devoting as much time to it.

I sure hope he does. Maybe that’ll be the final nail in Stoops’s coffin at UK and force him to start looking elsewhere.

Can’t stress how important it is that this coaching staff is not here next year.

All eyes will be on unc next year or two, and if it works, he’ll snag a lower head coaching after that. At his age, this is probably his best move.

Just further highlights that next year is make or break for stoops. Hopefully Sumrall has one more good year at Tulane, Stoops flees to Iowa, and it all works out in the end.

The auto extension was removed from Stoopd contract this last go around.

The assistant pool of money is pretty good at UNC with this new hire. I’m sure he would get close, if not better, in terms of salary.

"Close, if not better", than $1.3 million???????!!!!!

If UNC is willing to give him that, I will be SHOCKED!!!

But, if they are giving him LESS, it will make a HUGE statement about where UK is as a program under his lifelong friend Mark Stoops.
