Some of you misunderstand the 3rd word in the thread title.
Not sure if these guys made it past their region (Cleve/OH) but this was big in Cincy for awhile.
Exactly. Not really a one hit wonder if nobody has ever heard of the song before.
The guy that wrote this also wrote "Green Tambourine": They're not remotely similar lol.
His name is Bill Bartlett (I think he attended Miami OH IIRC). I saw him in the Phil Blank Blues Band in the Cincy area- best guitarist I've ever seen in a bar band setting.

Certainly "My Sharona" dwarfs the other hits:

But IIRC they all charted and were very popular back in '79.
I saw The Knack at the Taft Theatre in '79: the line for tickets went all the way around the block.
I still like that song but Donnie Iris had three top 40 hits.

Absolutely agree and I was just about to say it's one of the best pop-rock solos ever. Dude wails on it. Also agree on the one-hit wonder status, but I reasoned that it was the one they were most known for...and I just like the song

Saw a guy at a bar on Oxford Circle in Lexington one time back in the 90s. He played an original and was murdered on his way out the door. Don't remember the name of the song or the guy's name. Best one hit wonder ever.
