MB just thinks we will be competitive. These other AD’s / Schools / Boosters will always be two steps ahead. I’m pretty confident they are already looking how to stay ahead of the status quo.
Just like before NIL was a thing.This. Our best in NIL isn't outbidding most of the rest of the SEC.
You mean like TN putting a $10 "performance" tax on each ticket sold next year? Must be tough for them having to decide between football and meth.MB just thinks we will be competitive. These other AD’s / Schools / Boosters will always be two steps ahead. I’m pretty confident they are already looking how to stay ahead of the status quo.
Stoops told us about a week ago that UK's now well positioned re NIL thanks in large part to Eddie Gran being installed as General Manager. While MB may not be out front there's no indication UK's bringing up the rear. Now.....is all that true or is it BS, coach-speak? I have no clue and neither does anybody here, we'll just have to wait to see how it unfolds. He doesn't have a choice does he? That waa the settlement or ruling and this is how its now mandated. It isnt like hes out in front on something.
Just like before NIL was a thing.
Well the best way to show them the fans are fed up is an empty stadium. They’re not going to make the change unless we the fans show them we’re SERIOUSLY sick of this mediocrity!Called it. Welcome to the spin zone. Stoops back for another year.
Yeah this is about the profit sharing and it’s mandated by the settlement. His comments aren’t really about NILHe doesn't have a choice does he? That waa the settlement or ruling and this is how its now mandated. It isnt like hes out in front on something.
Wouldn't matter, higher payroll can't overcome poor coaching or stupidityThis. Our best in NIL isn't outbidding most of the rest of the SEC.
He hears the rumbling of many fans checking out and not renewing football tickets which is his lifeblood for other sports not bball.Barnhart in PR mode. He hears the rumblings of people wanting stoops gone.
No he doesn’tMB just thinks we will be competitive. These other AD’s / Schools / Boosters will always be two steps ahead. I’m pretty confident they are already looking how to stay ahead of the status quo.
It is required that the schools pay out profit sharing with athletes moving forward. So a part of the school’s athletics revenue goes out to athletes. It is not the NIL/collective thing.Just who shares in the profits and from what or were do the profits come? Because unless NIL comes from equally divibed⁶funds the other SEC schools are already looking at ways to cheat. A&M. BAMA UT LSU and OU and Texas will outspend the rest of the SEC combined if no restrictions are not put in place.
This.^^^^No he doesn’t
He does think he and Stoops are much smarter than all us dumb hicks that want UK football to be a quality program.
Need to put together a whole department dedicated to NIL fundraising and management for all sports. Take that crap off the coaches backs and let them coach.Stoops told us about a week ago that UK's now well positioned re NIL thanks in large part to Eddie Gran being installed as General Manager. Think that's what they've done football-wise with Gran.Need to put together a whole department dedicated to NIL fundraising and management for all sports. Take that crap off the coaches backs and let them coach.
So NIL is going away? So every SEC school will receive the same amount of funds from profit sharing from the individual sports TV contracts. Unless you have no Yankee rich with Oakland poor in the same league it won’t work.It is required that the schools pay out profit sharing with athletes moving forward. So a part of the school’s athletics revenue goes out to athletes. It is not the NIL/collective thing.
The original agreed upon settlement was going to take away the bs nil stuff with collectives that are really just pay for play and they were going to establish a committee to evaluate the legitimacy of NIL deals above a certain threshold of money. Like some kid getting 2k wouldn’t have had to deal with it but kids getting 100k would. But the agents, advisors and parties that now make money off the kids making money sabre rattled enough to get it back into revising the settlement to where it isn’t going away. I frankly haven’t looked at the revisions to see if they were able to get any stipulations in there that could try to make it any more legitimate than its current version. But now the players can receive from both avenues of money. They get paid as the schools labor and they have NIL they can get. The question is whether NIL will become any more legitimate or not.So NIL is going away? So every SEC school will receive the same amount of funds from profit sharing from the individual sports TV contracts. Unless you have no Yankee rich with Oakland poor in the same league it won’t work.
