This edition of the CATS may struggle badly against the competition they will face in the SEC this year. Bad year to be a sub par UK team.
Too early to deem us sub par. Sub par start to the season, certainly.

Auburn loves to shoot threes. Soooooo glad UK don’t have to play them now since they hate guarding threes. UK should be ready by the time they meet
Auburn is as advertised, problem is people anointed Duke the most dominant team in history. That just isn’t true, they’ll drop multiple games throughout the season. Auburn’s slow start killed them. They outscored Duke by double digits the last 3/4 of the game.

Tennessee is best team in SEC right now. Auburn a close second. I have no doubt UK will better than both in March.
I agree completely. He is a highlight reel and unique yes. But give me Barrett or Reddish over him all day everyday. That being said those three are tough. As a team Duke isn’t what the media has hyped them to be, everyone will see.
You may be right but it is gonna be a tough year to be on the wrong end of a learning curve in the SEC.
March is a long way off and we always seem to find a groove sometime mid season. Not worried unless we drop some against inferior teams, which I don’t see happening. We will be the best team in the sec come tourney time, too much raw talent compared to the resting the sec IMO.
Very good 3 pt shooter. Long, athletic finisher at the rim. Bruce called him his best pro prospect on the team 2 years ago. He'll add more length and shooting ability at the 3, with Doughty losing his spot and moving to the bench.
Auburn will win just about every home game but will struggle some on the road. They wont sneak up on anybody this year. They are heavy 3 point reliant and dangerous if hitting. But their FT disparity is amazing, they shoot about 30-35 at home and 10-15 on road.

He’s kind of flying under the radar but has potential to be a top 3 player on the team. Pearl said he was the best pro prospect as a freshman. He put up 28 points in two straight games and then got hurt and was never 100% the rest of the season, then got suspended. He’s hasn’t played in a long time so remains to be seen.
Thanks for giving our guys some credit. Tough, character building loss tonight. Looking forward to seeing how we respond tomorrow. If we have a decent shooting night and/or Wiley plays the way he did tonight, hopefully we can get the SEC another SOS boosting W.

Meh. Duke was up 17 in the 2nd half, up 11 with a few minutes left, had 5 turnovers in the last 5 mins, shot 25% on 3s and under 70% on FTs. And the game was never really in doubt against a veteran and really good team.
My point was it was 31-14. Final was 78-72. So from that point in the game on Auburn outscored Duke 58-47. Auburn just dug themself too big a hole to start by shooting 1-12 and 19% from the floor in the first 12 minutes of the game. After that Auburn took control of the game. Duke had a small burst to start the second half but overall Auburn outplayed them for 3/4 the game. It’s true it was never in jeopardy but that’s only due to the early cushion Duke had when Auburn couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn.
