You want to know how you lose that’s how you talk about a guy playing who’s giving you nothing.

So from what I have seen they want Askew to be the PG. Obviously they think he’s the better distributor. I get that but when the offense is in half court sets it’s Boston and Clarke who are ball dominant so your limiting him on the one thing he’s better at than Mintz. At some point you wonder if your better with Mintz better shooter, better defender doesn’t turn it over just based on what we need from our PG.

Skew should be a Senior in high school so I’m really nervous about our PG situation.

Last year it was Whitney starting and shouldn't have. This year it is Askew starting and shouldn't. Mintz a four year player and best shooter on the team that has what we need the most with experience. Why do you think Cal is starting Askew over Mintz? Why can he not work Askew in off the bench when needed and let him learn and gain experience that way? In my mind Sarr and Mintz should be on the floor more than anybody every game so we don't lose games we shouldn't and get a lesser seed because of it all in the name of developing players, I suppose, for the pro's. We have two fine super experienced players at the 5 and the 1, the two positions that a freshman is going to have growing pains the most of all positions.

Cal said tonight for Kentucky fans it is all about March and April. How high we are seeded is the big part of that and taking any loss we don't have to hurts our chances winning it all. Do what all you want Cal, but at least keep the two guys on the floor that gives us the best chance to win it all and quit messing with them. Rotate the other positions regularly but only the 1 and 5 when needed, like foul trouble or a quick rest.

I think he will be good his second year but will be overwhelmed this season. It's understandable he will need time but when our championship hopes rest on him this season it's not hopeful.

The bright side is that Marcus Teague didn’t have a great start either. That team also had AD however.

Couldn’t agree more. This team needs veteran leadership and that means you have to play Sarr and Mintz. Mintz is poised, smart, and experienced. Not to mention one of our our best 3 point threats. Both he a Sarr need to play close to 30 mins a game.

It’s really mind boggling how freshmen with no clue get the nod in early season games. But that’s Cal’s way. Fans want wins, lots of them, 1 seeds, Final 4s and another damn championship. Cal wants to accumulate the most NBA max contract playerzzzzzz. Amazing how many missed opportunities UK has had with all these mega millionaires. now in the league. But at least Cal is changing generational poverty for families. Too bad that’s not what he’s paid to do. Insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and over yet expecting a different result.

Play the players that give the University of Kentucky basketball team the best opportunity to win games. As the head coach of the premiere program in history, that’s the expected thing because IT IS what actually matters. It’s about winning basketball games. Early and often. That’s what true KY basketball fans care about. The program.

Both guys are playing so what real difference does it make who is starting

I agree. Been telling my wife for months that Mintz needs to be the starter over Askew. Particularly the early part of the season. I’m really hoping Askew can improve a lot this year. He has a LONG ways to go.

I think it's a little too early to get on Askew, and on Cal for starting Askew. It was game 2. No exhibitions to figure out rotations and which player was most game ready.

Now, if Askew still struggles, and he's still starting in conference play, then we have an issue.. But this could very well be just a mistake made by Cal and Mintz will get the nod, IF Askew continues to struggle.

I’ve said on here 100 times- we’re too aggressive accepting early enrollees. There are the elite of the elite, who you’ve got to take, but I don’t want an early enrollee unless he’s a top 7 or 8 guy.

More times than not, and early enrollee is going to get his ass kicked by a tough 21 or 22 year old. We see it happen every year.

Are people shocked by Askew stumbling Out the gate? I’m not. Same with Juzang- he was nowhere near ready.....and look how that turned out.

Askew should still be in high school. Is it too late to send him back?

That tells it all. UK fans and Coach Calipari are not in the same universe. His goals are not UK fans goals.

Cal should be in politics or a social worker. He has the con man down for politics and the heart for socialism work.
