I think this is the quietest 5 star visit/ recruitment I can remember. With Giles to that other school I am hopeful he liked his time here this weekend-Indy

I didn't think so.

I saw Bolden as more of a Dakari type player.

I saw Allen as more of a smaller WCS. Long, skinny, athletic, and a little underdeveloped right now.

I think you are right about that. Allen is a little more athletic, but not as strong as Bolden, from what I have heard.

He reminds me of Brandon Ashley. Not sure he's a true 5, especially at the next level, but for college purposes he's plenty big, long and athletic enough to score in the post and block shots. He has excellent potential if he ever reaches it.

I saw this kid sitting behind the bench at Ky State Game. Think he has more upside than Bolden and would be our better option in my opinion. Has anyone heard how his visit went? It looked like he was sitting with his parents during the game.

From everything I've seen on him he looks really timid/shy/quiet and those type of players usually find Kentucky overwhelming. I hope he enjoys his visit especially with Giles off the board. Seems his recruitment is wide open and he should look at what cal has done with athletic bigs and hopefully become a Cat.

We better enjoy Skal while we can.

There will definitely be a drop off at the 5 next year.

Allen is more athletic than Bolden, however Bolden has better footwork, is more fluid, and uses both hands.

I know he is going to NC State but I'd take Bam over all of these guys, including Giles with the ACL... why let Mark Gottfried cost you so much money?

Bam and Diallo would be a nice match up.

allen and Humphries will be just fine at 5. next year we will be so so so so long and athlethic at every position with certain lineups. only thing we will need the 5 man next year is to play good defense and rebound. plenty of other scoring.

Hopefully our class ends up like this:

G Fox
G Monk
F Gabriel
F Allen
F Killeya-Jones

That would be a great class. I know Skal is more skilled than any of those bigs (and Humphries) but I feel you a trio of SKJ-Humphries-Allen would give Kentucky pretty much anything it needs next year and would be an upgrade on the frontline that went into the 2014 tournament (a group that almost won a title).

Derrick Rose rode Dozier and Dorsey to the national title game in 2008. I feel Fox and Monk are the type of guards who wouldn't need a Skal or a Towns to get it done. Just good, quality bigs who get the job done. Humphries, Allen, and SKJ would be just that. Throw is some Gabriel at the 4 and UK's frontline looks like gold compared to that 2008 Memphis runner-up.

Yep, the key has always been landing Fox and Monk. Do that, and everything else takes care of itself next season.

Echo Humphries talk. A better version of 2011's Josh Harrelson next year.

jason spot on. he will bring every center that guards them away from the basket and make them guard pick and rolls

And we'll have alot of experience back next season to go with that class. Mulder, Humphries, Wynyard, Willis, Mathews, Hawkins are pretty much locks to return. I think Ulis and Lee probably come back. One of them could go pro, but I don't see both of them going. Poy is a big mystery for next season, but i'd say he probably goes. Murray and Skal are gonzo obviously, Briscoe probably is too, but it wouldn't surprise me if he returned. At minimum, we'll have 7 guys back who can contribute.

What does ESPN know?

JARRETT ALLEN
Crystal Ball leader: Kentucky (80%)
Jerry Meyer’s pick: Kentucky
Expected decision date: Possibly this month

If you ask 10 people, who are supposedly experts on this, you will probably get 10 different answers. The only thing that is 100% about him, or any of the other uncommitted players Cal is after, is either he will sign with UK or he won't; not very profound, I know, but then again most of what you read online isn't.

If the fox/monk backcourt commits, then the frontcourt will be really good, Matthews and Gabriel playing and switching the 3/4 and Humphries playing the 5...UKs frontcourt will be really good and good guards make it easy on the big guys to..

This is true and mind boggling. They had two injures in 1997 with DA and Edwards or they would have won 3 straight titles.

I'm upset with Rondo. I played him twice last week in fanduel and he was average at best. I don't play him last night and he goes off for a triple-double.

UK will be more than fine if Humphries is the starting center next season. He's not gonna rock many rims, but he's gonna be so skilled and fluid and be able to stretch the floor that he'll be a matchup problem.

I feel he is an underrated defender to, he shut diamond stone down in the Australian and USA under 17 game last year, he spends some time with cal he will catch up on defense imo..

he can guard the low post just fine, but is gonna struggle in the pick and roll... which any team with a coach that's even remotely decent will utilize.

Yeah, the pick and roll will be rough on him, hopefully the other players can help him with there switching defense..

you're not gonna want to switch anything with Humphries in the pick and roll. He'll have to hedge enough to give the guard time to get back on his man. Humphries on any guard at the top is gonna be bad news as will UK's guard on the big man setting the pick.
Just like Dakari did .

I think Humphries will be one of the top centers as well. Everyone talks about Duke getting Tatum and Giles, but UK could have the best PG, SG and center in the country next year lol. And we will certainly will not be chopped liver at SF and PF!

Looks like Good ole Jerry Meyer has switched his pick on Allen to Houston. Dude switches picks like he changes his clothes. Still think we have a good shot at Allen.
